Transforming Your Child Dr Lehman
Im wondering if anyone has bought the book or program from this person? It seems to have some good info but is REALLy expensive, over $300., the book is $30 by the time it's shipped.
It's about dealing with difficult children.
Thanks for your input.

Hello B.,
I have not heard of this man, but I can recommend a book that is far less expensive and proven to work on millions of children: "How to Talk to Kids will Listen, and How to Listen so Kids will Talk"
I call it "miss" behavior, not "misbehavior!"
Every misbehavior is a symptom of a need that is unmet, or "missed."
In the words of Ruth Beaglehole, CNVEP, "Every behavior is a tragic attempt to meet an unmet need... tragic because the behavior in question will NOT result in the need being met."
It is our challenge, every time our child "miss" behaves, to determine what that unmet need is, and then help them to find a behavior that meets that need, rather than misses it!
Lots of Love,
Linda

B.,
When it comes to kids and purchasing books/programs for behavior, I hinge and not going there. I like the book recommended in the first post, and would say that if kids are a challenge or seem tough to deal with it's usually because they need someone to stop and hear why or help them learn how to better deal with their emotions.
Good Luck.

Are you looking for something for yourself as a Parent, or for your kids? There is a difference... the intent is different.
I really don't think a $300 dollar program is really more advantageous than a $25 book from Amazon.
I heard that the Lehman program is for the parent and to learn parenting...? Not about "changing" your child etc.
Perhaps an alternative to that... is to check around locally and see if there are parenting workshops in your area... or for kids with special needs or issues... perhaps check with your Pediatrician or hospital and see if they offer anything.
All the best,
Susan
