Yes, I have two young kiddos, and yes, I'm feeling completely over-run with toys. I've found some great places to donate stuffed animals but I'm looking for a place to donate all these toys where they'll get used and loved. Most of the resources I'm seeing are (understandably) asking for new only. Almost all of the toys I have were new to us and are very, very gently used. I can hold on to these things and sell them via Craigslist or Three Sisters or a garage sale and that'd be just fine, I suppose, but in my perfect world I'd like these toys to go directly to kids that need them. Any ideas?
Thanks! I jumped off your ideas to start looking for shelters, etc for kids. I found Jonathan's Place (http://www.jpkids.org/), if anyone else wants a name to look for, and I will be contacting the other centers you mentioned as well.
The internet tells me police departments need gently used stuffed animals to give to kids they encounter in difficult situations. I haven't called to confirm this for Dallas yet but that was my idea.
Contact the Genesis Center in Dallas. They are a domestic violence shelter for woman and woman with children. They are ALWAYS looking for toys, and it is an amazing charity. They do so much for woman and I know they could greatly use some fun toys!

That's so Toy Story 3 of you! I teared up when Andy took his box of beloved toys to that little girl. I 2nd the shelter. That's a great idea.
the Dallas County Childrens Advocacy Center can use them. This is for kids and their sibings that have been abused - they always need toys, magazines etc...
Where did you find that would take the stuffed animals? I have a herd of them that could use someone new to love them! :)
You can try the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center. I am not sure if the will use the used toys, but they will sell them to help the center. I have donated toys to my church pre-school.
