Toys in the Crib
I have noticed some moms talking about their babies walking up and playing in their crib for a bit. I was wondering what kind of toys the babies are playing with? We don't have any toys in our almost 7mos. old daughters crib, but I think she might like waking up to some in her crib.

Hello S.,
I'm saying pretty much what everyone else is, but I want to share my bunny too. =0) My daughter has a stuffed bunny from Target. She LOVES it. We bought a back up and when I pulled off the hook in the store her face lite up and she smiled. One has a rattle in it, which I love because when she wakes up from a nap and is playing with it, I know it's almost time to get her up. Also, I'm get a little freaked out about SIDS as well, so it's a little indicator that everything is OK.
Best of luck!

Our daughter loves chewing and sucking on her stuffed animals. Helps soothe her while she's teething. She has 2 in her crib and we wash them frequently b/c they're washable. They're made by Kid's Preferred - Asthma friendly. One's a blue cow and the other is a white, pink spotted doggy. You can get the hanging toys as well, but it depends on how much stimulation your daughter is used to. We prefer quiet toys.

I have the Baby Einstein Turtle. It hangs from the side of the crib and has a little aquarium in it with two fish that swim around to music and lights. My daughter loves it.

That is really hard because of SIDS they say not to put anything in the crib with them. I have a 10 month old, and around that age I allowed her to sleep with a stuffed animal because I felt like she was aware and strong enough to not suffocate. She DID have a mobile, but as soon as she was tall enough to grab it she demolished it. If you aren't comfortable with a stuffed animal, maybe a non porous toy (like chunky plastic teething ring) in the corner of her crib and when she wakes up she'll figure it out.

Usually toys that are soft and cuddly with no buttons or beads. They have cute teddy bears with stiched eyes those are really cute and cuddly.

Maybe now is a good time to get her started on a self soothing favorite something?? Give it to her at every sleep time. My one daughter fell in love w/ a stuffed bunny and the other a tiny blankie w/ satin trim. A bedtime "fave" is a lifesaver...not to mention a "sleep saver". :) Best wishes to your family.

For her age, I suggest the toys that hang onthe crib, there are many different ones. Some play music some make sounds, I suggest finding one with a volume control! I remember waking up from deep sleep to musical toys that were LOUD, kinda freaky when you are in such a DEEP sleep! Good luck!
