Hi My daughter is 13 months and will be 15 months by Christmas time. I am looking for toy suggestions to put on her list.
I want to have toys that will help her learn and entertain at the same time. Thanks

What can I do next?

My daughter was around the same age last Christmas. She absolutely loved and still plays with her Fisher Price Fun to Learn kitchen. She also has a talking tea set from Fisher Price that she enjoys. (Sorry I don't remember the exact name of it though.)

Hope that helps.

I am not a huge fan of mainstream toys, but my kids absolutely love their Fisher Price Little People. We now have a lot of them and they still get played with every single day by my almost 5yo and my 2yo. It is amazing the things they do with them.

Dear J.,
I really liked the Discovery Toys for my children. Over the years, they have developed a graduated plan for children of all ages and it is quite extensive. You will love these toys which are durable, practical, colorful and most important -FUN.
Of course, there are many other brands that are good, but Discovery Toys are out of the ordinary.
Enjoy!

I'd suggest anything that's interactive - books and toys that help her learn her ABC's, colors, shapes, etc....kids learn best by repetition, so any toy that you're okay with hearing its noises over and over again should be fine. Find out from friends/neighbors if they have anything that they'd like to get rid of either for free or for el cheapo (it's amazing what they find in their basements/attics after going thru their "stuff"). Also, look around at flea markets/garage sales in your neighborhood, church, fire/police dept., etc...sometimes, you get the best deals at those kinds of places/events, too!

Good luck :)

Hands down the BEST gift I bought my daughter (who was also 13 months last Christmas) was the Fisher Price Shop and Learn Shopping Cart. She was just learning to walk and it's super sturdy! She still plays with it and all her little friends love it too....everyone is always complimenting it.
Other items she got last year were blocks,Little People Farm, Fisher Price two-tune t.v. , and the Little Tikes Rockin Puppy. We still use all these gifts so they were well worth the $$.
Good Luck!

I agree that a shopping cart with play food is great fun, and also the Little People toys are wonderful for the imagination (my 6 year still loves to play with them too). Also a cash register is entertaining and educational for years to come! Good luck and happy shopping!

My daughter is the same age. She loves Fisher Price Little People and many of the V-tech toys (animal piano, singing rolling bug). She loves to put things in and take them out, so anything that they can fill and empty (she even loves putting her Little People in and out of containers). She has just started getting interested in wooden puzzles- she will take the pieces out and examine them and carry them around with her. My daughter has been walking for a month now, so the push toys are not as exciting as they were a few weeks ago, but many of her push toys are also ride-on toys which she will she will probably be really into in the next few months. She also loves board books- she will actually sit and "read" by herself for long periods of time.

Hi J.! I know this is not very traditional... But someone I know just bought a really awesome kiddie pool at Target that was ridiculously clearanced. Most of their Summer items are. She is giving it as a gift, even though they cant use it.... (unless you want it in your living room with out water for fun) They will use it in the summer.... and won't have to spend much much more when the time comes that they need it. I thought it was a great idea. It was really cool, it had a mini slide in it and tiny water falls that shot out of things. I wish I had that for my daughter rather than a plain old kiddie pool. Also, an awesome learning tool for my daughter was books with flaps in them. They pull them up and say whatever is under the flap. Most of them are educational. Elmo has many that she enjoyed. She had an alphabet one, you pulled it up and then said "B is for Ball" In no time, she knew every letter and a word that started with that letter. I highly recommend them!
