Tooth Fairy

Hi Everyone,
My six year old son just lost his first tooth and I'm wondering how much money the tooth fairy should bring him. Just curious how much kids are getting these days.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks everybody for the info! The tooth fairy did end up giving $1.00 for the tooth. I do like the idea of the dollar coins or silver half dollers. Thanks so much!!

We did $1/tooth for my now 9 y/o, but also a bonus of $5 for the first tooth.
For the $1 we used a single coin -- had to get them from the bank.

For both my kids I actually got them a little gift (under $5) for their very first tooth - along with a note from the tooth fairy congratulating them and telling them from now on they'd maybe get a quarter or a dime if they'd leave any future teeth. In reality, I usually give $.50 or $.75. I also made a point to say that the tooth fairy doesn't always come the first night, depending on how busy she is she might not make it until the next night - that's come in handy a couple of times when I forgot because I was too tired - LOL!

Dear B.
Our Tooth Fairy leaves one dollar per tooth ! She often leaves a silver dollar or a gold coin dollar. Word is she may obtain these easily at a local bank! The kids love the silver and gold pieces and save them special :)_

Great--a question I can answer. We said that the toothfairy is very excited about a first tooth so she gives $5.oo the first time, but after that, a dollar a tooth because she just can't afford any more than that.
