It sounds like he's fine. Believe me, it will change. You are very lucky!!

Like you said, he is just finding his balance. Don't forget, like it was a marathon for you to have him - it was a marathon on his part to come out. I'm sure you are doing a great job!

Keep doing what you are doing and don't worry about it. Some babies cry what seems like non-stop and some are perfectly content.

Ask your Dr. what you should do based on the baby’s birth/current weight. That tends to be the determining factor. Without knowing the baby’s weight it is really hard to guide you, so ask the pediatrician for the guidelines. Don’t worry about calling the Dr. They expect it from new moms. CONGRATULATION!!!!!

Be thankful for the full night of sleep, that will be short-lived and you will miss it!

Congrats! I can totally relate. My little guy is 9 days old. He slept most of the time in the hospital... I was so worried my pain meds. from my C-section were affecting him. The nurses told me I needed to wake him up and force him to eat. That was so hard........

He will definitely perk up in a few days. Good luck!

CONGRATS! You will find plenty of time to worry about everything in your baby's life... if he seems happy, healthy, alert, and comfortable now then just ENJOY this period of calm. It won't always be this way. There will be ups and downs, and I'm sure he'll give you plenty of opportunity to WISH for quiet. :-)

It sounds like he is fine. As long as he is eating, sleeping, and going to the bathroom he should be fine. Normally if one of those is off such as he is not eating or sleeping or going to the bathroom then something is wrong. He could be going thru a growing spurt also. But if you are ever worried I would call your peds office. They always have a nurse and they are used to all kinds of questions especially for first time mothers. My son is now 5 so it has been a while for me but I still worry about everything.

Congratulations on your new little angel. Yes, he's OK. He'll let you know when he's hungry, wet, dirty or otherwise. Enjoy him.

A. Congratulations on your new son!! It is such a special time - enjoy it!! The words mother and worrier go hand and hand at this point. Babies need lots of sleep. Our daughter did the same thing the first few weeks - it takes a lot of energy when everything you look at is a new experiance. As for him not crying....enjoy....this too will change. Motherhood is a wonderful ride!!

I don't know that I would let him go 8 hours at this age...but that's just me. I would probably wake him between 4-6 hours. If you are breastfeeding, he should be eating (on average) every 2 hours but it sounds like he is compensating a bit during the day. As long as he is gaining weight and you are getting 8-10 good diapers per day, you are likely fine.

My guess is you will only get a few nights like this anyway. By 2 weeks of age the schedule will be completely different again. :)

Get your sleep while you can! These first couple weeks are the easiest when it comes to sleep issues. :)

growing and peeing, you are fine. I know they say you should wake them every 3 hours, but if he is feeding every 45 minutes during the day, I wouldn't worry about it. It won't last long, believe me!

Im sorry my stomach is cramping from the initial laughing to your note, but you are worried that your baby is sleeping. Girl, you are a new mother. God bless that baby. My son was the same. Slept well from the get go. If he is wetting and pooping well, isnt running a fever and otherwise seems fine, count your blessings and hold on tight....teething will come soon enough and you'll be begging for this beautiful sleeping baby. Im sure he's fine. The worry never ends with the first because its all new, but try not to worry. All babies are different. We here so many horror stories from Moms while we're pregnant that when we have a calm baby who sleeps and doesnt cry all day with colic we think there's something wrong. Im sure he is just a happy, well cared for baby with a full tummy. My guess is you are very loving and engaging during diaper changes, so what does he have to cry about. Maybe he feels very safe and secure with you and you are in tune to his needs and meet them. Babies cry when they need. If they dont need, they dont cry. Good luck, A..
