Toddler's Teeth! - Chicago,IL
My son is 17 months old and has 6 teeth (top 2, bottom 2 and top 2 molars).. I know most kids have almost all teeth by this age. Although I know this is not necessarily an issue and that some teeth later, I just wanted to see if anyone has similar experiences and how long it took for all the teeth to come in.

Don't worry, my son didn't get his 1st 2 teeth till he was 11 mos old and his cousin who is 3 mos younger already had 6 teeth at the sametime. My son is now 26 mos old and we are still waiting on the last 2 molars to finally come in. Let him get them in when he is suppose to but till then get him his 1st dentist appointment and teach him how to brush. K.

My daughter is 20 months and has 8 teeth (4 up top , 2 at the bottom and 2 molars at the back). It's not the norm for them to have all the teeth at this young age and it is more normal for them to be 2+ before they have them all (minus the molars they get age 6) , which is then what causes the baby teeth to become loose so adult teeth can come in.

My 7 year old did not cut teeth till she was 13 mos. Finally had them all by age 4. My (just turned) 2 year old got the front 4 at 10 mos old and currently has 14 teeth.
Just know if they cut teeth later, they will likely be the last to get loose teeth too. My daughter is the 2nd oldest in her class and turned 7 before she got her first loose tooth, while her friends were 5 or barely 6 and losing teeth left and right.

Don't forget to find a good pediatric dentist, don't use any other kind for little ones, they are specialist is baby teeth and problems of teeth in children of all ages. They don't do adults. Family dentists are not pediatric dentists. Most insurance will give you a list of who they pay and the list will have some on it. All of my littleones had their first appointment by age 2, that way if there were any issues they would find it early.

My son is almost 17 months old and he just got his 7th tooth, four top and three on the bottom. I know it seems like it is taking forever for them to come in, but everyone is different.

My son had 2 teeth for the longest time since 6mos and got 6 more in one shot when he turned 1yr, so it may just be a matter of time!

My son didn't have much more than that by that age. His canines came in last at about 19 mos I think. So he had little gaps on each side of the front ones. He still doesnt have his last set of 2 year molars. He is 27 mos.
