Toddler Girl Hair Clips - Where to Buy Ribbon & Alligator Clips, Etc.

Hi!

I am looking for a place to purchase accessories to make toddler hair clips. It would be great if at this location I could take a class on how to do this. I am not too concerned with making the bow, just how to do the clips with the ribbon glued to it. I am not a very crafty person (in fact this will be my first project!) so I would could use the instruction. Thank you in advance!

Hi!

You can get the clips at Sally's Beauty Supply - they are usually with the perm and hair dying supplies. As for gluing the bows it really is a snap! I bought a set from Once upon a child to understand how they were made and basically the ribbon is just glued around the the entire clip and them the bow is glued on top. If you're visual like I am I would recommend using an exisiting bow clip as a "pattern". Also - here's a great link.

I was going to suggest Ribbons and Lace as well. They do classes there, too. I buy my alligator clips at Sally Beauty Supply-much cheaper! I also buy a lot of my ribbon at Walmart or Joannes and buy it by the spool. Ribbons and lace can get pricey and if you don't know how much ribbon you will use (allow for mess ups) then you might have to go back. Just a suggestion. You might think about buying $1 spools at Michaels for practice-I just know that I have wasted a ton of ribbon when I am experimenting. Good luck and have fun.

In Mesa, Main and Lindsay I believe the southwest corner there is a place called Ribbons & Lace. Love the store! However I was blessed with 2 boys so not many fancy barrettes in my life.

I believe you could buy the items at Joann's or Michaels. I recently bought a book with child crafts in it and there were a couple ideas with instructions on how to make some barettes. I'd be happy to scan and e-mail those to you if you'd like. Just let me know.
