Toddler Car Seat Recommedation

Now that my son is soon to outgrow the infant car seat, I'm starting to look into the next size up. My husband and I both have small cars (Ford Focus and Mercury Tracer) and are looking for one that is not huge! I've looked at some at the Right Start and Target and they look really big. We're not likely to ever own a large car. Any recommendations for a toddler seat that would fit nicely into a compact car? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi N., We just bought the Britax Boulevard for our 6 month old daughter who is growing off the charts - it fits better in our Prius than in our Rav 4. Yes, it is huge, but it has so many safety features that we feel better with the small cars we also prefer. We also liked the Evenflo, but I forget which model - it was a little smaller, but we like the protection for the sides of her head in the Boulevard model. Happy shopping. ;)

I don't remember the name of it, but someone recently showed me a carseat that is designed to fit into a car with 3 car seats - which is nearly impossible unless you have a huge SUV. If you do an internet search maybe you can find it. It was much narrower than the britax and graco that we have.

The one referred to above (that is thin enough to fit 3 across the back seat) is the Radian (65 or 80, depending on how many pounds you'd like it to go up to). I've seen it at Tiny World on Westwood Blvd. and was considering getting one myself. Its other big claim to fame is that it folds easily and can be carried over the shoulder for travel...Good luck!

PS. - We got the Britax Boulevard, and it's definitely huge! Most of my friends have the Britax Marathon (which doesn't have the side wings around the head) and they love it, but it's also not small.

Any of the Britax line are the best and safest. We have the marathon.
