Toddler Activities in Southeastern MA?

I recently moved back to my hometown with my 19 month old daughter and I'm alarmed to learn that there aren't any My Gyms or Gymborees or other sorts of indoor activity centers for toddlers in this area. we lived in AZ, so she was able to go outside year-round (except for during the super hot summer) and I think she is starting to get cabin fever. even the malls in AZ had playcenters. anyone know of places near Fall River where I can take my daughter to play?

What can I do next?

I am looking for ideas too. Being from the south... I am bewildered with the lack of indoor play areas with these New England winters. There were a million indoor activties in Houston- year round. I have 3-6yrs, 3yrs and 3mo. We are already in cabin fever mode--this is gonna be a LONG winter!
Good luck!!

Your daughter is still a bit young for this, but check out Teamworks in Somerset. They have some great classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers 2 and over.

There's a great Little Gym in Raynham, MA (a bit of a drive from Fall River) and a small but fun play area in the Taunton Silver City Galleria Mall. You may also want to check out the Providence Children's Museum. It is WONDERFUL for small children and you could get a membership to go whenever you want.

I find winters very tough and I've lived here all my life, so good luck to you!

my daughter's music teacher directed us to a toddler music program it is gymboree the fall river library has story hour. partners store in westport has a story hour on thursdays at 10-11. if you ever want to have a play date i have a 20 mth old mother of 13 11 8 and 20mths K. d

Check out Bay State Gymnastics Academy in North Dartmouth. They have a variety of classes (for babies on up). My daughter took classes for 2 years and loved it. I don't know about the libraries in Fall River, but the Southworth library in Dartmouth has story time and they have a great play area stocked with a puppet theater, toys, puzzles, etc...The kids area is separate from the rest of the library, so kids don't have to be quiet. Good luck.

As a few people have already stated, the local libraries have great programs for toddlers, including story time and craft times. Baker Books in Dartmouth has a story/craft morning as does Partner's Store in Westport. Southcoast YMCA, which has branches in Fall River, New Bedford, and Wareham, have great little kid programs, including play groups, swimming, sports, yoga, gymnastics, dance, crafts, and more. There is a Gymboree in Swansea. Southcoast Music Together has a lot of great programs in the area. The Providence Children's Museum is great (and you get free passes from your local library). It is worth the drive to Providence (plus they can fall asleep on the drive home). Speaking of which, check out the other neat places that the libraries can give you free passes to. Good luck!
