To Clean Wood Floors

Be careful with the vinegar as too much will take the wax off the floors, it happened to us =(

We use Murphy's Oil.

I know a lot of people clean with vinegar, but, seriously, that is one smell I do NOT want in my house (except if I'm making a salad!).
Try Murphy's Oil Soap. Gentle and effective and it has a nice clean smell. Put about a half cup into a few gallons of warm water.

I only use vinegar and water for my tile floors. Otherwise I use a wood cleaner for hardwood.

If your wood floors are a laminate wood... be careful with having a lot of water on it per mopping. Because, it can delaminate.

I use windex as suggested by my installer. 18 years and they are still looking great!

I swear by vinegar and water...however, I wouldn't use it on hard woods. Vinegar H2O has been known to take off the finish. I would use a cleaner designed to clean specifically for hard woods.

I use Bruce Hardwood Floor Cleaner from Home Depot.

I wouldn't use vinegar. I don't want that lingering vinegar odor in my home. And I'm not crazy about Murphy's oil soap either. I remember how bad that smelled when we had to clean our desks in grade school. The strong odors may be toxic or covering up the chemicals.

We use Murphy's Oil on hardwood. I save the vinegar for the tile and as fabric softener in the wash.

Bruce Hardwood Cleaner is sold in most large home improvement stores- kits include the mop. My parents are in the floor-covering business and swear by this stuff!

Wood floors require a wood floor cleaner, like Murphy's Oil Soap. Vinegar and water is usually good for tile.
