dont go to crazy they tend to get overwhelmed and cranky- Make sure you plan the party between nap times, Dont throw too much at her at once if there are a ton of presents you might want to hold back on some or open two at a time because they get distracted and bored really easy. Not all toys need to be opened and put together that day. If you pick one a day for the rest of the week she will be just as happy and not as overwhelmed.
Oh food we always got a little cake or cupcake for the birthday kid, and cake and ice cream for everyone else

For my son's 1st bday, I had a small house party with Elmo theme decorations. I had about 6 kids come over to celebrate. His bday is also in June. It was nice. His dad bbq'd for the food. I had elmo party packs with bubbles for the kids to blow outside. Party City has nice ideas. My daughter turned 1 last September. I had her party at McDonald's playland. It was ok, except she cried while singing happy birthday to her. Keep it simple and non-costly, since your daughter is only turning 1.

Order something simple like Pizza & Salads. The less clean up you have to do the better! You want to enjoy this day too!

either get finger foods for your guests or pizza. i wouldn't over decorate. it just gets thrown away and it's a waste of money. maybe a banner or table thing. you don't say if there are going to be other kids there or not. if it's just adults don't know what kind of activities. we always just let the kids play together with the toys that are there and the adults just gab. you can play pin the crown on the princess and just get a poster board and do it yourself. my son liked the baby einstein movies, so my mom and i made a cake ourselves and just used white frosting and bought fondant and made the caterpillar. pretty easy. just got plain colored napkins and plates from the Dollar Tree.

KEEP IT SMALL. You're going to hear this a LOT from other moms.

They get over stimulated and melt-down. We had two small parties and that worked out great.

Good luck!

simple simple simple. this party isn't something she will get anything out of, except maybe that some favorite relatives are visiting. keep it calm, keep it simple, keep it short. the more you can do those things the more SHE will enjoy it.
