Any good endocrinologists( thyroid doctor!) in the North Dallas/ Richardson? North Garland area... I am beginning to think my doctor doesn't know what to do with me!!! (I babysit my grandson and I am pooped) Any help out there would be appreciated!!!

So What Happened?

I got a lot of new names...Thanks!!! My internist told me to hang with my doctor for just a while longer -that I am on the downhill slope of getting to be normal( whatever that may feel like!) I have all the names -I recognize a few...one person suggested MY doctor! I just need to be a patient patient!! Thanks!!!

By the way-my grandson had to go to the ER today-turns out he has A flu...need to keep fluids in him~~~and we all know how when a youngster is sick they do not want anything!! ( we have all been sick here at the house!)SO, if you are sick -please stay home-keep your sick kids at home too!!!

V.,
I too have suffered from thyroid problems, fatigue, etc. My internist could never solve my problems. I was referred to a functional doctor who deals with all types of biochemical issues.

She has given me my life back!!! Her name is Dt. Tammy Pon, M.D. She is in West Plano Her office number is ###-###-####.

FYI-Patients pay her upfront and then can turn in the receipt to their own insurance carrier. My insurance HAD to pay for her visits because there was no other doctor on my insurance coverage that was a functional doctor.

Dr. Pon is an excellent investigative doctor! (Like Dr. House on the tv show ,"House" just alot nicer:)

Blessings,

Your Dr. will be concerned with getting you on medication. I suggest you also pay attention to your diet so as to not interfere with the job the medication needs to do. AVOID sugar: potatoes, corn (including chips made with them) desserts (some other sweeteners will affect me including stevia):also avoid caffeine, and grains (or limit them severely because they will spike insulin). Focus on eating lots of fresh vegetables (fruit has sugar) and a little protein. One Dr. I read said thyroid problems occur with people who have trouble with insulin, because your thyroid filters insulin. Also, even if you don't feel like it, EXERCISE. I wish you Blessings.

Hi there! I also suffer from HypoThyroidism and have had it regulated with the help of great endocrinologist off Campbell Road. She monitors it closely and even went with a combination T3-T4 thyroid replacement hormone for me that gives me more energy and less fuzziness.

I love my internist at presbyterian Dallas. If you would like his name just let me know. I am hypo-thyroid. If you are then a little syntrhoid should go a long way. give it a try. you will be shocked at how much better you feel.

Also my work involves nutrition and wellness. If you would like some guidance there let me know too.
Best of Luck,
P.

It can be hit or miss getting good treatment from a Non-Endo. I see Dr. Bressler in Dallas. I think he is part of "North Texas Endocrinology" on 75. I believe they also have a nutritionist on staff, but I have never seen one. Sometimes he is late with his appointments - which is really annoying when I'm on time. However, he will spend as much time as necessary with you...talking about your general health and any concerns you might have. There is a ton of info (and books) on thyroidism. One place is thyroid.about.com

Good luck!

Good morning, Maggie,
I have been using Detoxified iodine to regulate my thyroid and it really helps. It also helps stabilize the other endocrine glands in your body. Often adrenal stress is a problem in many older women. I get mine from a biochemist in Austin.
