Thoughts or Direction for Obtaining a Temporary Stroller(s) for Travel in D.C.

Just a thought, but you could try the hotel where you'll be staying. We were in Vancouver last summer and completely forgot a stroller. The hotel loaned us one, and it made all the difference in the world! Good luck.

your best bet is to buy a used one off of craigslist I can't think of anyplace that rents strollers and buying off craigslist would be your cheapest option

Where will you be staying? If at a hotel, call the concierge now and ask him/her for help. If the hotel doesn't have them for guests' use, the concierge may know of a rental place.

My sister lives in a suburb of DC....I'd say you could rent/borrow hers, but you wouldn't want it, it's so dirty! :o)

I know that you said that you weren't interested in buying an umbrella stroller, but there is a really great one out there that I highly recommend. It is technically an umbrella stroller but is a "higher" model. It is by Combi. It has a cup holder, a hood, and a place underneath to put a purse or bag. It also folds up really conveniently, and has a strap so you can just sling it over your shoulder. It is also really light.

It costs around $100, but if you were going to be renting one for several days, you might be thinking of spending around that anyway.

I'd look at Once Upon a Child. Then you can use it until your kids get bigger, then sell it back. Or garage sales, where they are cheap, if you have time to look.

when i've traveled with my kids, i've borrowed baby gear from people off of craigslist. i've just posted something and gotten good responses. parents are always willing to help each other out!

If you are in the twin cities metro area, I have a perfect stroller you can borrow. It is Mac claren, and it is very comfortable, but folds up like a dream!

One other thing, is that when we went to Chicago with our 3 kids last Fall, we chose not to do the stroller thing, but instead asked for a wheelchair when we ere in the museums. They take less space, and tended to be free instead of having to rent them, and the boys thought it was a kick to be in one, and they shared it nicely.

i bet a sit and stand stroller would work great for you. i bought a used one a kids garage sale...check craigslist for sales or for people selling one. it worked wonderfull for us at the airport and also use for trips to the zoo etc. you may even want to invest in a new one. our girls are currently 3 and 5 and we just used it a month ago for our trip. it is nice to keep them both together at the airport and it is nice for the older one when you are doing a lot of walking...they have a place to sit when they get tired.

it is rental place in DC.. You can rent them when you get there and that way you don't have to bring anything with you.
This is the route I would go. MUCH easier than bringing them along.
