I just sent a request about my family situation but I need help with one more thing...hope y'all aren't too mad to help me with this. I gave birth to twin boys on Dec.11th. I have since lost over 30 pounds but my belly won't go down! It looks like I'm 3/4months pregnant. The thing is, it's not soft or flabby. It's hard as if I'm still pregnant and of course it has lots of saggy skin all around. Know of anything I can do? I already wore out one girdle :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow!! I guess I do need to wait a little longer before I get too concerned about the saggy belly. Thanks for the help!

I had twin boys at 31 also after having three other children. It took me just over a year to lose the 64 pounds that i gained in my stomach. I did lose it though. It just took a lot longer than my other times. Everything is just stretch out of shape so much more from twins, and it is harder to get it back into shape. I wish I could tell you more. Good luck, W. Hi Gina, congratulations on you twins and on the lost of 30 pounds. I need your help on how you lost 30 pounds. I have had 3 children, my last was a girl and I can't lose the weight or the belly saggy. I don't know how you can loose it other than operation depending on how much belly saggy, mines is belly fat, it will go down if I loose weight but then if I gain it right back. If I was you I would talk to the Dr for suggestions or a weight instructor. Hope this helps. W.

You may be expecting too much too soon from having twins, it will take a little time, but I'd ask the Dr. to be sure there isn't something else going on since you said your stomach was hard. And (if time) ha, of course there is some exercises designed to help for new mother's.

If your belly is hard underneath the saggy skin, it means you have muscle there. That is a good thing. The saggy skin (don't get mad) may be fat. To help reduce that you may want to up your cardio. Try power walking, cycling, swimming (excellent,)running, or eliptical machine.

I had the same problem... I had a mini-tummy tuck (to remove extra skin) after my 8 month old was born so I was disappointed in the pooch and hardness of my stomach because I had the tummy tuck. I was told that my muscle wall in my stomach "spilt" due to the fact my children were such big babies!!!! My first baby was 9Lbs 9ozs and my second Baby was 8lbs 12ozs and she was 2 weeks early. AB workouts will help a little but I was told with out a full tummy tuck were they sew the muscle wall back together I will never have the stomach I had before but which mother does. Your stomach will go down alot it just takes time. At 7 months post-pregnancy I notice a big change I also joined weight watchers online it helped alot too Good Luck!!

Gina, I have had 4 children in the last 9 years and 3 of them being shy of 10lbs. After my 4th and 3rd time of gaining 50+ lbs my stomach began to sag due to stretched skin and stretched muscles. I did weight watchers and lost 35 lbs when my 4th child was 4 months old. I then joined a gym and went to pilates 3x a week. I noticed that I began to drop inches off my waist line and muscle began to build up, but one thing if you lie down and can fill a gap between your stomach muscles then they have split and the only thing that will totally get rid of the sag and bring the muscles together is a full tummy tuck. I was 208lbs when I delivered my 4th baby who is now 2 yrs. 9 mos. I now weigh 149lbs, but I still have the saggy belly and have gone to a plastic surgeon for advice. Since the fat is gone, no longer do I need lipo, just the tummy tuck. If you only want to look good in your clothes and not a bathing suit, I suggest pilates, cardio (30min) and weights 3x a week. You will definately see a difference! Incorporate a healthy diet and you will be on your way. If your impatient a diet pill that does work on losing weight is Perfect Slim, but be careful you can lose sleep with this pill.

Given your sons are still VERY little, sounds like you are doing all of the right things by the weight you have lost. I would work on decreasing the fat in your diet and increasing the level of your cardio. I had the same thing happen with my first, and after changing those two things, I saw dramatic results in a few months time. You still have adipose tissue from being pregnant. It takes time to get rid of that. Increased cardio, decreased fat! LOTS of water and rest!

some skin will never go away sadly. but you can do some jogging and toning to do what you can. i have lost down to what is a very small weight for me and still their is a "mommy pouch" there. why? because i gained and lost 30 plus pounds twice. it's simply how the body works. short of a tummy tuck, my extra skin is there it stay, 4 years post last child.

Just keep exercising and eating healthy! That's all I can really tell you. Oh and one more thing: your stomach isn't EVER going to look like it did before you got pregnant. :)

I'm not trying to get sales out of this, but I truly believe in the products I sell, and know they work. Please look at my websites, www.bodywrapsbychristyn.com and www.wrapanewyou.com. I sell partial body wraps that tone and tighten your skin and you can lose inches in 45 minutes. These wraps are all natural and safe, and affordable. You can get your first one for only $20. Are you breastfeeding? I ask because you should wait until you are no longer breastfeeding before using these products.
