Third Pregnancy
Hi! I'm about to become pregnant with my third child, and I'm wondering (even though I know everyone is different and every pregnancy is different) if most third-time mothers out there really do show significantly sooner than they did with their first and/or second. I exercise 5-7 days/week (cardio and weights), am in very good physical condition, and my abs are the strongest they have ever been. Do most of you feel you "popped" much sooner even if you were in just as good, if not better shape than you were the first or second go 'round?
So What Happened?™
Thanks for the advice/input. Again, just curious as whether or not women really noticed a difference with the third. I'm an exercise/health food concious person, so I'm not so worried about "losing" my figure--I actually enjoy being pregnant--just wondered if I might really pop out there a lot sooner than with my other two!
I'll let you all know when the test is positive! :-)

I'm 19 weeks today on my third pregnancy and still wearing my regular jeans. With my first pregnancy, despite loosing 20 pounds in about 2 weeks in the first trimester, I was in maternity clothing by 8 weeks. My jeans were just too uncomfortable. With my 2nd I was in maternity clothing by 8 weeks also, even with losing 20 pounds really quickly also.
This time around, on number 3, I've only lost 10 pounds, but can still comfortably wear my regular jeans. I'm not showing at all with this one, where as with the first two, I showed really quickly. My starting weight is the same as it was with the others.

I'm not in the superb physical condition you sound to be, never the less I'll share. I'm currently pregnant with my third, and I showed so quickly. By 4 months, I looked like 6 months. At 6 months, I now look like I'm due to deliver any day. My weight gain is on the low side, and my diet is appropriate, so I'm thinking the 3rd time must be a charm!

I have three with a ten year gap between the second and third. My first, I gained 25 lbs and showed about six and half to seven months. Most people didn't believe I was pregnant. With my second I was in shape again (they are 2 years and six months apart). I felt puffy with my third early on. I was still in shape after each pregnancy. I gained 23 lbs with my third. Many gain about the same weight with each pregnancy but showing or where and when you show could vary. Remember age and lifestyles are changing factors every child. My prayers are with you.

I'm pregnant with number three (37 weeks right now) and I'm not as big in the belly as I was with number two, but it's been nearly four years since I had him. I think it's more how closely they are spaced. The muscles are stretched out, and hardly have a chance to return to normal when they are a lot closer together, which I think is why some women get really huge the more they have.

K.,
Just eat healthy and exercise every day and enjoy your third pregnancy. I showed the earliest with my second and third pregancies. With my fourth pregnancy I didn't show until I was 7 months pregnant. So, all pregnancies are different. My last baby was the smallest, so that may be why I didn't show until so much later. Just take good care of yourself and the baby and stop worrying about when you will show. You will show when you show and there is really no controlling it. :o)

Honestly I think it depends on the person. Generally I think that most moms lose the time they spend on themselves as they have more children. I did stay in shape and did not show any sooner with my pregnancies than the first one. Most people did not even know I was pregnant until the 6th month and I only weighed 115 lbs at 5'7" when I was pregnant. If you watch what you eat, exercise your abs, and have good skin quality than I think your stomach muscles aren't stretched out or lose elasticity.
