Thinking About a Weight Loss Patch...Anyone Had Success?
I am desperate to lose weight! I have tried lots of diets, exercise programs, and fasting, but no long-term success with keeping it off. A friend of mine has lost a considerable amount of weight with a weight-loss patch, similar to a birth-control patch or nicotine patch. I haven't worked up the nerve to ask her detailed questions about it, just finding out little bits from mutual acquaintances. I was wondering if you ladies have heard of this or experienced any success with it?

Several ladies in my Jazzercise class are wearing them. I will post an update when I see them next and ask them how much they have lost.

I can't relate personally, but I have always been weight/size conscious. I have had friends and family loose weight (100 lbs) using Eat Right for your Blood Type, and 95 lbs on South Beach. They both teach you different things, but the South Beach at least teaches you how to eat for a living. I struggle with not being a member of the clean plate club and I love good food. I wasn't willing to stop eating things I like, I just had to learn to eat differently. Two of my favorite and weaknesses are rice and pasta. South Beach just teaches you to trade the white for the whole grain. No problem, I have been hearing that from my instructors at the gym for months. I can't tell you how it has changed my body in just a couple of weeks, I actually began to see results. My hard work is paying off, at the gym and in my home. You are truly ONE DECISION away from a lifestyle change. You can get weight loss surgery, take a patch, a pill, whatever, but if you have not made the DECISION to change your lifestyle, you will be back here time and time again. Like all good things in life, they require effort, time and commitment. Any thing that offers instant gratification comes with disappointment long term. One statement I read and teach my children is, that we can't eat for enjoyment, we must eat for nutritional purposes. Trust me that was hard to swallow, because I LOVE FOOD. I pray you will make THE DECISION for a lifestyle change and eliminate instant gratification opportunities. I know you will feel so good about yourself when you see the results of your hard work, yes the only way to make it work is diet and exercise. (With the decision, self-control will take over because the desire for results is greater than the WANT-if you just WANT something, you may never stretch yourself to get it, when you NEED something, you will do whatever it takes to get it.)
I know that was not you question. I apologize for the long answer. If not you, I pray it will change someone else's life too.

Hi G.! I'm in the same boat (100+), so I know the struggles you are going through!
I have found great success with the Jen Fe Power Patch. I started on it 5 weeks ago and have already lost over 20 lbs! It has totally taken away my cravings and reduced my appetite. I'm no longer snacking during the day either. Best of all, when I go to restaurants, I am only eating half the portion and boxing the rest for later!! It doesn't make me feel weird or jittery. And I've slept more soundly too. I used to get up every hour or two, but now I'm down to once a night! It's been great.
They are ephedra-free too!

My daughter's preschool teacher went from a size 14 to a 4 in 4 months!! That's what encouraged me to try them. If you have any questions or concerns about it, please let me know. I'll be glad to answer them or find someone who can.
We're all in this journey together!! Good luck!

I was over weight my entire life. Finally at 26 I went to a doctor that specializes in diet. He checked my blood and did an ekg. Come to find out I have a slightly slow thyroid. He put me on a very low dose. I was on a very strict diet. You know when people say "I will do anything to loose weight" perhaps its more what you WONT do. You wont eat sugar of any kind, wont drink soda of any kind, you wont sit on the couch. Its tough but I lost eighty pounds and after the baby I am back on the very strict diet and exercise. A patch, a pill, a fad diet is all temperary. You have to make a life style change and truly dedicate getting your body healthy not skinny. So much luck to you and God bless.

I too would be weary of something like that. I would not wear it unless you know exactly what is on and where it all comes from. Also you might have a great outcome from it, but is it going to be one of those things that as soon as you quit wearing it you start putting the pounds back on quicker than you lost them? I am a member of Weight Watchers. I use the online tools and attend the meetings. Just following their flex plan and adding more exercise I have lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. Not the quickest, but is definitely a healthy way of doing it. It has been a major eye opener to me about portion control.
Good luck, and please be careful in whatever you choose to do!

I've tried a lot of different things to lose weight. Excercise etc. Nothing worked. So far the only thing that has been working is Weight Watchers. I use the online weight watcher, so I dont' go to meetings, but I've heard from a lot of people that the meetings really help as a support group!
I've been consistently losing weight for about 3 1/2 months. I can eat whatever I want, so i don't feel deprived. The first few weeks are hard, but if you push through it it gets easier!!! And I'm really seeing results.
What I found was that I was not eating enough. And believe it or not if you don't eat enough, your body holds on to the fat. So with WW I'm learning how to make good food choices and include water, fruits and veggies and whole grains.
It really works I would reccomend it over any dietary supplement!!!
Good luck!
