I am pregnant with my second child and due in may. I really want to try and have a VBAC but would like to hear how it went fo other women who have tried it. I also would like the name of the dr who did it. I had my son via c-section because my dr was rushing things and my body had other ideas. Also due to the fact he induced me at 37w 6d and my body nor my son was ready for that. So any information anybody can give me would be very helpful. Please help me because my heart is set on this, I just need some help making it happen.

What can I do next?

I just had a vbac 10 days ago! My heart was set on it too and while it was ALOT of work, I'm glad I did it. Baby was transverse and did not want to fit, so I wound up with a 4 th degree episiotomy and baby had a big 'ol cone head from 4 attempts at vacuum extraction! That being said, I wouldn't have changed anything. I really wanted the vaginal birth experience. Thankfully my doctor knew that and was willing to try it all, hence the episiotomy and vacuum extraction. I can say that even though the episiotomy hurts after, it was a much less painful a recovery than a c section, in my opInion.
My doctor is in Texas, so his name probably won't help you out, but it's Dr Axline.
Best of luck and pm me if you have any questions!!

I have had 1c-section and 6 VBACs. I would give you the name of my doctor, but that wouldn't help you. The things that really helped me in my success is that my doctor was willing to let things happen naturally and not force them. She was totally on board with my VBACs but if at any time she had told me that it wasn't possible, then I would have known that something was up and shouldn't try. The goal when having children should always be having a healthy baby and mom when you get done. It really shouldn't matter how they get here. It may not be possible to have a VBAC. You really need to consult with your doctor and see about your chances of success. If you had a section because your hips are too narrow, then you probably won't be able to have a VBAC because most likely your hips are still too narrow this time. If the reason for your first section were just related to the pregnancy that time (like my first) then your chances are better. (My first was 11 days late and not tolerating labor). Other things that you may need to consider are the fact that if you do a VBAC then pitocin is not your friend during labor, especially if you need it to start labor. The chances of a problem happening are greater if you use pitocin to start labor. You need to be willing to let things happen on their own. I can share more from my experiences if you want to personal message me and if you want to ask more specific questions. Good luck in your search.

Two c-sections myself. The first was necessary. The second, probably not.

You have to find a dr AND a hospital willing to let you do it. My dr. was bound by the clinic/hospital that she worked for. They won't do VBACs.

Good luck!

Contact your local ICAN group. They will lead you to local midwives and doctors who do VBACs. Best of luck!!

I had one C section and 3 VBACS. I really don't see why a doctor whouldn't do it.
