Theme for 1St B-day!!!!

I need some advice, my youngest boy is about to turn 1 on the 14th. I am at a compelete loss of ideas for his party theme. With my oldest he was really into Pooh when he turned one, but this one is not into anything. I always make a BIG deal with B days and I spend a week on the cake. PLease give me some ideas, thanks.

What can I do next?

For my son's 2nd birthday (he wasn't into anything either) we did a color party. I used the basic colors, red, green, blue and yellow. It was a huge hit! Let me know if you want more details. : ) Good luck!

my friend did a farm theme and made a barn cake. it was so cool.
We did a teddy bear picnic for ours. you could use red gingham theme. All the children brought teddy bears and we had a 3-d teddy bear cake.

We are doing a sports theme for our son's first birthday on the 18th. I'm making baseball cup cakes and we are just have red and blue decorations.

We had an airplane theme that was really fun.

Arlington has a new party store called Pinky's (sp) it is on Fielder and Randol Mill. It has some of the cutest, best priced, never seen before items. I cannot wait for my little girls 2nd birthday, so I can go and pick out fun items. I know they have E-I-E-I-O things, I think that would be really cute.

How about a Tonka truck party?

I stayed away from a theme on my son's.

I mostly had a color/psttern thing going on. It was really cute and I made a matching cake and favors and everything.

My son did not show any interest in anything either so for his 1st bday party we threw a Mexican backyard fiesta. I bought sombreros for the kids,a pinata, played mexican music on stereo, hung fiesta decorations(party city), served mexican food, and fiesta colored smash cupcakes...it was easy. I wore a little mexican dress and hubbie wore a sombrero while he served and made drinks. We had sangria for the adults. :) We hired a clown for an hour because kids under 3 are hard to keep entertained!
Now that my son is 14 months, he has shown great interest in the movie Cars. He went crazy when he spotted Lightening McQueen at Toys R Us. If only he had shown this interest 2 months earlier, i would have been able to a "Cars" theme. But the Mexican fiesta turned out perfect and everybody had a great time. :0)
