The "Grocery Game"...????
Dear moms:
I'm trying to save a little money, specially in grocery shopping, and I'm wondering if The Grocery Game really works and if it's really worthy to try..??
Thanks for sharing your experience.

OMG - I LOVE the Grocery Game! I have been doing it for years and save tons of money, not to mention get to try new prods that I normally would not have and my pantry is always stocked - so no last minute expensive trips to the store. I tell everyone I know about it! Be careful.....it's addictive!

Smart move E.! The Grocerygame is GREAT!!!!!!!! I love saving money, and this makes it easy, and FUN. This is even better if you "stock pile" stuff...I have a extra pantery outside, my linnen closet has extra tolletries, I have my launderyroom shelves FULL of cleaning supplys and tissues/paper plates...I even just upgraded to a larger stand up freezer! I run a inhome childcare and have a family of 4. We also have "get to gether" partys here once or twice a month, that we supply the food...My budget (including EVERYTHING from diapers/wipes to cleaning supplys and food) is $150 a week... this includes the extra milk, and our freash foods we get at the farmers markets. Some weeks I don't get anything but the freash stuff... others I just live off our stockpile! If you have any questions just ask me...

I have done the grocery game in the past. I found that I can do it just as well myself without spending the extra money. I belong to a yahoo group that discusses every deal that's out there. It's based in the DFW area. Some of the people on it are kind of crazy, but they give me better information than any of the websites mentioned here. I'm currently on a $10 per week grocery budget for my family of three. I buy four papers per week out of that $10. My family eats well.
The group is: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/DFWCOUPONCUTIES/
Just sign up. I find it to be a tremendous help!! Of course, it's FREE!

It absolutely works- I love it! The first week I used it, I got $150 of groceries for $50! I think a lot of people have a problem initially with stockpiling stuff- they don't want to buy it if they don't need it right then. But, our pantry is stuffed to the max, our toiletries are overflowing, and we're getting a freezer this weekend because our fridge freezer can't fit anything else in it. I usually only buy the blue and green items, and then add things that I need to and almost every week I only spend about $60 on groceries! Also, another tip, do you have a Mrs. Baird's bread outlet near you? You can get 4 loaves of bread for $2 off of their markdown table. It's not out of date bread, just bread that is nearing out of date.
Good luck!

I'm going to sound like a "pusher", but DO IT, DO IT, DO IT! I've been doing it for well over a year now, and we are saving a fortune! It can be a little overwhelming and frustruting till you get the hang of it, but stick with the first 4 weeks, and you'll never regret it!
Until you get a "stockpile" going, you'll feel like you are still spending the same amount of money, but remember to step back and see what all you are getting for that money. I'm certain you will realize you are getting better products, and more of them by far.
My husband now laughs that we never have to make a quick run to the store for ANYTHING!There is always an extra (or a few extra) stashed somewhere.
I receive so many items for free or nearly free, that it enables us to donate quite a bit to local charities as well. That makes it worth my time all by itself.

It definitely takes some time & effort but I think it's worth it....I usually go to 3 stores on Mondays and I save approx. $90-$100 every week at all three stores. Start slow, I started with 1 store first and then increased.
