The Croods Movie - Ok for 6 Year Old?

My son will be six in a few weeks and he was asking tonight if he could go see The Croods. I haven't really seen any of the previews and don't know anything about it. I know it's rated PG, but that's pretty much it. If you've seen it, do you think it's appropriate for a six year old boy? He isn't the type of kid who gets upset at scary parts.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I took my son who is five and a half to see it a few weeks ago. He enjoyed it and wasn't bothered by anything, though there were some make-you-jump moments.

I thought it was okay, cute enough, but not great.

Commonsensemedia.org is a fairly good website for info on movies and help deciding what would be appropriate for specific ages. The will give a summary and list anything that might be objectionable or beneficial.

My 7 year old daughter loved it. I loved it! It was very cute and funny. The best site I've discovered so far for in depth reviews is Kids-in-Mind. They also have a mobile app available.

Not too bad for kids, our 4.5 yr old granddaughter enjoyed it. Nowhere near as scary as Rise of the Guardians with that nasty Boogieman - that even gave me the creeps.

My son is 5, he enjoyed the Croods. He wasn't bothered by anything in it, and he is fairly sensitive to scary stuff (he was terrified of Brave and we had to leave the theater).

It's not like Ice Age where he asks to watch it again, so I guess he didn't think it was fantastic, but it was fun to take him to a theater to see something -- and not to have to leave after 20 minutes because he was scared.

My son's teacher said it was VERY SLOW and they did not like it. I trust her for a reccomendation for my son just as she trusts me for hers - if your son likes/needs action to keep his attention in a movie then this is a no go.

Yes, we took our 7 year old without any regrets. The romance is so light, I don't see it any different than Pebbles and BamBam falling in love if you remember the Flinstones.

Someone mentioned tons of adult humor, but I only remember a couple of lines. However, I do tend to dose off during movies.

I was a little concerned about the world ending and frightening my daughter, but she hasn't reflected on that subject a bit.

ton of adult humor, and as always some sort of romantic theme, but ok for a 6 year old. Enough silliness and action to keep them busy.

We enjoyed the movie. I think it's fine for a 6 year old especially if he doesn't get scared.

We have not seen it, but I always use www.pluggedin.com to check out movies before we see them.

Oh my goodness it's wonderful! My husband looks exactly like Mr. Crood so we had to go see it (even he thinks so). The family in front of us had a six year old who loved all the color and movement. It has to be the cutest I have seen in a long time. Oh, and I have grown children so now is the time when i show my expertise on all these things teehee.
