Test Again??
My hubby and I have been trying and when I didn't get my period on the 10th like normal, I took a pregnancy test on 12-11-10 and it came back positive. Well today while going to the bathroom I noticed I started to bleed like a normal period would start. I haven't had any cramping, or anything. My question is how normal is it to bleed during pregnancy? This is my 4th (if truly preggo) and haven't had any bleeding with the previous 3. I have a dr appt scheduled for Wed, to confirm, but do I wait or do I test again?
So What Happened?™
So with the holidays, I decided to cancel my dr appt and wait until after the holidays. I went today and my dr did a preg test and it also came back positive SO tomorrow I get to go in to have my HCG levels tested and again 48-72 hours after that to see if its going up or down. Thanks to those who replied!!!

Quite normal. I bled with my second pregnancy. I was pregnant all along but didn't know it...until I took a pregnancy test! It happens with some pregnancies, for some women. If the test is positive, you are pregnant.

Ditto... without 2 blood tests you can't tell if your Hcg levels are rising or lowering.
Implantation bleeding is super common, as is minor bleeding as things adjust, as are chemical pregnancies. So without 2 blood tests or a period... you won't know and the 2nd pee test won't help.
Chemical pregnancies, as I'm pretty sure you probably already know are super common (studies have shown that the average woman having unprotected sex regularly gets "pregnant" 3-5x per year)... we just don't know it (unless we're TTC and testing all the time) because our periods either come on time or are a few days to a week or so late. Hundreds of causes... most commonly the DNA didn't zipper up correctly... and 2nd most common is failure to implant or implant correctly.

If you are miscarrying, the test may still come back positive. Only two blood tests would show if the hcg is lowering instead of increasing. I did bleed with my 4th at the time I would have started my 2nd period. It scared me because it was kind of heavy at first.
Are you getting other symptoms of nausea, hot flashes, hurting breasts, etc?

It's only a few days. Wait and talk to your doctor. Have the doctor's office do a blood test.

Could be a chemical pregnancy. Your body produces the hormones early on just enough that the test comes back positive, and then you get your period a day or two late.
I had one the month before I actually got pregnant. I was a day late, tested positive, then started the next day. Took another test that same day that came back negative and I called the OB. They told me what it was. They also told me that it often makes it easier to concieve the next month becuase the hormones are already flowing.
That all being said, I bled with my son. The first time was about 7 weeks in, then again at about 12 weeks, then again at 20. My mom had a period the first three months she was pregnant with me.

You can test again, but I'm guessing it would still come back positive. Even if something was wrong, you still have those pregnancy hormones in your system. I think that it's best to wait until your appointment. I would maybe call and see if you can get in earlier.

could be implantation bleeding. I wouldn't worry- I would just wait til you see the Dr. on Weds. Good luck!

Go to the ER or an Urgent Care facility. If you are miscarying hopefully they can stop the miscarrage. You need peace of mind and are not going to get it until you see a doctor.
Bsest of luck to you. I had a miscarriage way back in 1994 and I still feel the heartbreak sometimes.
I will send Reiki healing and blessings.
