My daughter is one now and when she got her 4 front teeth in it wasn't so bad. Her top and bottom molars are coming in but they haven't broke through the skin. She is absolutely miserable!!! I give her Motrin a few times a week before bed and she wakes in the night, I give her Hylands teething drops as well. They work so good. I even switch and give her the teething gel. Tried Oragel and she hates the taste and it only last for a short time. I give her teethers and she wont even touch a frozen washcloth. Our biggest problem is at night. She has been sleeping through the night since 2 months of age. Her waking up is a huge adjustment for my husband and I, even our dog. Ha Ha Ha. I comfort her more because she is teething and I wait until she's calmed down and I put her down and stay with her until she gets relaxed and then I leave. Please, if any of you moms can help me find other ways to help us all, it would be greatly appreciated. Sometimes I feel that I'm not doing everything I should. I also get soooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated I give myself 10 minutes sometimes. Please, any suggestions would be great!!!!!!!!!!!

N.,

My daughter had a hard time with molers as well. We used to ulternate between motrin and tylenol every 4 hours as needed for pain. When she wakes up give her the opposite of what she got before bedtime. If this doesn't work you can always try benedril. I would ask the pharmasist on the dosage. I do believe that I used benedril when things got really bad. My pediatrician told me this was ok to use at night time to help her sleep. I would still talk to your pediatrician if you decide on the benedril.

My son is now 2 and i know i could have not gotten through his teething days with out the teething tablets i got at a health food store. They were great, they are the homeopathic brand. They have all natural ingredeants in them and they work so well. I suggest if you have a health food store near you, ask them about there teething tablets. They also, helped him sleep better, and if he was having a hard time cutting teeth, they helped push them through. With them being all natural you have no side effects. There a little pricy, but well worth the money. I hope they work for you

You said you've tried the Hyland's teething drops and gel... have you tried the teething tabs? They work wonders.

Hi N.,

It's so hard to see a little one suffer through teething pain.
Something you might want to try is called EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique. It is non-invasive and can work very quickly. Their website is www.emofree.com where you can download a free manual and learn how to do the process. If that feels too cumbersome, I am a certfied practitioner and could do it over the phone with you. I am also listed on Mamasource in "Other Parenting" as Spirit of Motherhood Life Coaching.
Best of luck with your daughter!
