Does anyone know if teething can cause a complete loss of appetite?

thank you! I have received so many good ideas. I found out that it is his teeth. He seems to be bothered most by them in the morning. As the day wears on, he will eat. I have given him cold water, teething cookies, and Gerber puffs and crackers. He does really well with these things. Thanks a bunch!

I am thinking it might have some effect. my 9 month old is getting 4 of his upper teeth at once and I notice him not wanting to nurse as much... but does eat food ok.
P.S. where in TX are you from? I am a Texan and am moving back to FortWorth in a few months.

My daughter has always been a huge eater except when teeth have come in then I think it probably hurts. It will pass.
Absolutely! I would offer your son soft things, like yogurt, cheese, applesauce and the like. Yogurt drinks are good, too. Good luck! Teething is a bear.
Yes it can. =) Give him soft things to eat for meals and something harder to chomp on, like a teething ring the rest of the time. Make sure he is drinking if nothing else.

Yes, especially with the molars. Their mouths hurt too much to eat, I think.
