Teeth Whitening Products

This recommendation came in my dentist's newsletter. Natural tooth whitener: To whiten teeth faster and cheaper, crush one strawberry (has malic acid) to a pulp, mix with 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, spread on teeth and leave for 5 minutes then brush with toothpaste. Good luck!

Hi, I have to agree with SallyB. I have not tried her natural whitening recipe, but I did just have a dental exam and a cleaning. The hygenist asked me if I had a grinding issue, or had been using whitening products? I told her that I used whitening toothpaste and used Crest Whitening rinse on a daily basis. She told me that that would explain the fact that the enamel was wearing off in places on my teeth. She asked me if my teeth were sensitive to heat or cold and I told her they were. She said that is because the enamel is wearing off and that the enamel is wearing off because of the whitening products. They are too harsh for teeth. She said she advises all of her patients to use only regular, non-whitening toothpaste when they brush and stay away from other whitening products if possible. They have not been on the market long enough to see long term effects on teeth. I just thought I would share that with you and you could seek advice from your Dentist before you proceed.

I found the Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips to be easy, affordable and actually work pretty well. They dissolve on your teeth within a few minutes and taste minty.

My dentist says it is okay to use the Crest Whitening Strips. They are easy to use and there are usually coupons. I have tried ti before but not in a few years, for some reason my top teeth really took to it more than the others and I am a bit gun shy to use again.

Crest premium white strips work well.

I know I can't afford the preparations to whiten teeth and I love cofee and tea. I use baking soda on my toothpaste every morning. It whitens pretty good for the amount of stains that I have.

i have used Crest white strips with success. more recently i have been using Crest's whitening tartar control with scope toothpaste and i can not believe the results. very natural whiteness. even my dental hygenist commented on how nice the color was at my last cleaning!

Safe and inexpensive and available at any drug store and is the main ingredient in any teeth whitening products on the market.

Hydrogen peroxide.

I use it with a cotton ball and wipe it on my teeth. It works great. I usually do it before bed so it stays on my teeth.
It is also go for cleaning out cuts and scapes with your kids. Multi purpose product.

I was watching a program on pbs last night, Brenda Watson's Detoxify your life and she said the same thing: Hydrogen Peroxide, it's cheap, it's the main ingredient in most whitening systems and you don't need anything special.

Michelle's advice is good too, I love Melaleuca products, but have only tried their regular toothpaste. It has tea tree oil in it, so it helps w/the sensitivity and keeps the pink out of the sink, healthier gums!

good luck! I may have to try it myself, but my teeth are very sensitive and any whitening system makes them more so.

I've tried several different kinds, from the store brand to Rembrandt and Crest White Strips are definitely the best and definitely worth the money.

I recently bought & used the new listerine strips that dissolve in your mouth. They worked really well!! I would definately buy them again!! Alot easier to use b/c you can apply them & go.

You really have to watch the whitening strips, they can eventually take enamel off of your teeth. Colgate with peroxide in it is great. It creates these bubbles and i am a coffee drinking and i have white teeth without the striping of enamel. good luck. :)

just plain peroxide! use as a mouth wash/rinse and let sit in your mouth a little while, rinse and or brush when done and you will notice within a couple days the color change

I use Crest Whitestrips and I could really tell the difference within a week. The package comes with strips for 2 weeks. A little over $20. My husband even made a comment that he is going to do it now!

The cheapest, most effective way to do it is buy Peroxide-no lie and gargle with it 2x a day-Don't swallow. You can even put some on your toothbrush. Hope this helps.
