At what age again are babies/infants supposed to get their upper pair of teeth. Mine has had the lower 2 for quite some time now and he's almost 1 yr. Is it after a year?

What can I do next?

Every child is different, some are born with a tooth and some don't even get their first one until after age 1. They also don't have a set order for coming in. The bottom front teeth are usually first, followed by the upper front, but not always, and from there on don't freak out if they don't come in "order".

Our son was past a year before he got his top front teeth. His eye teeth actually came in first making him look like he had fangs.

Our daughter, on the other hand, has had a full set of chompers since she was about 10 months old. Each baby is different. I'd ask your pediatrician what's normal at your next well baby visit.

Who knows. My son got his first upper tooth at almost fourteen months, now he's got four on the top and still only the barest sliver of a lower tooth is showing. They're all different.

As you can see from the previous posts, there is a WIDE range of "normal". I think it must be at least partially hereditary. Do you know when you and 'Dad' got your teeth? My kids both had the "full" set of 8 by their first birthday... my brother's kids on the other hand had NONE on their first birthday. Seems that his wife was late getting hers, too. I think I had mine relatively early...

my son didnt get his front teeth til a week before his 1st birthday where my daughter got them when she was 6 mon old. It varies, but i wouldnt worry about it. I have heard the longer they dont have teeth the healthier the teeth are because they arent exposed to food and milk.

Any point up to two years old is normal, after that you should be concerned that they aren't there.

It can vary a lot from child to child. See the range of ages here: http://www.mamapedia.com/search?query=first+teeth (I searched "first" "teeth" in the search box at the top of this page.) Good luck!

They will come in when they come in. No need to worry or x-ray. They are there.
