I need some help and can not seem to find what I am looking for. I would like to prepare a special gift for my child's preschool teachers, that come directly from the kids. What I am talking about is like a Question and Answer sheet. Questions about the teacher, answered by the kids. As an example "what is Mrs. ________ favorite thing to say" "Why is Mrs. _______ special". I am just at a loss for more questions. Can any one help me out? What other questions would be good to add to our paper?
Thanks in Advance for your help.

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I feel like I have a very good assortment of questions for the children to answer. Some of the questions provided were very creative and I can't wait to see how the children will answer them. Having been a preschool teacher in the past, I can only imagine how entertaining some of the answers will be. I know that parents love it when the kids answer questions about them. I am hoping that this will be a special memento for the teachers to treasure as well as give them a good laugh when they remember the child that answered.
Thanks Again for all of your help! :)

What is funny about Mrs. _?
Can the children read and write? You say preschool - but this seems a little advanced for most preschool children that I have known. Are their parents filling it out for them? Maybe you could interview the children with some of these questions and then splice some of the best answers together in an audio or video for the teacher so that it really could come from them. Plus, it's always hilarious to watch their facial expressions and listen to their pauses as they think about the answers to the questions.

Where does Mrs. _ live?
What is Mrs. _'s favorite thing?
What is your favorite thing about Mrs. _?
What do you think Mrs. _ likes most about you?
What will you remember about Mrs. _?
What will you miss about Mrs. _?
If I could buy Mrs. _ a present, I would buy _.
Mrs. _'s favorite thing to do is _.
What is your favorite thing to do in class?
What is your favorite thing about Mrs _?

Good luck!

I don't have any suggestions for questions. Do you know the teacher very well? seems like you'd need to to form questions because you'd need to know what she's talked about with the kids. Perhaps you could quiz your child about what he knows about her. Or are you looking for funny answers? Questions that the kids may not know the answers for but worded so that they would make up answers?

Another idea is to have each child draw a picture for her or even of her. If other parents could help have the children tell a story to go along with the picture and the parent writes down the story or labels the items in the picture. I remember my granddaughter's preschool teacher often did that for the parents.

Last year my daughter's room mother took pictures of all the kids doing activities and made a book at Walgreens, I think it was. Each family contributed a dollar or perhaps 2. It didn't cost very much and looked professional. You can see the product on the Internet. I think several different stores provide this service thru their photo department.

I chaperoned a trip of high school students to the East coast many years ago and the kids made a collage of pictures they had taken by cutting them up and placing them haphazardly on poster board. I framed it and had it on my wall for several years.

Hi Denise,

Here are the forms I've used for several years for the teachers of my kids. I have all the kids fill them out and then I put them in protective sleeves in a binder, add a letter to the teacher and a couple of scrapbooked pages of pictures from the year. Hope it helps and good luck!

Jen

Dear Parents,

I thought it would be nice to make Mrs. (name) a special end of the year gift from our whole class. Please complete the following pages with your child and give them to me by Tuesday, April 13th. I will bind all of our pages together to make them keepsake books from our whole class. If you have a copy of any photos taken during the school year (field trip, etc.) that you would like to contribute, please feel free! We can compile them and make a picture section of the book. Let’s keep this project a secret and we can present these books to them at the end of the school year in May. I will also be collecting donations for end of the year gifts for both of them if anyone is interested in contributing. In the past we have used the money to get gift certificates and planters for the teachers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help and contribution to this special project. If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank You!

The thing your teacher will remember long after the actual day is the kids. Ask them something like "what do you want to be when you grow up" or even ask any of them if they would like to be a teacher and list any kids who say "yes". I made my pre-school teachers a scrapbook with a picture of each child and information about them. These are some of the questions. You may be able to adapt them to your project:
Favorite things to do at school, have the kids sign their names, favorite color, my family (ie. siblings, pets, etc). What I want to be when I grow up. What I like about my teacher. Not exactly on-point but may give you a few ideas.

We are making a scrapbook for our teacher - each child decorating a page. A picture, some pictures from the school year, and decorations by the kids.

For other ideas..
What is your favorite thing you did this year?
What did you learn this year from Mrs.______?
What was your favorite part of preschool?

Maybe include a bottom part from the parent(s) -- an open comment where they can write a thank you, comment how much they've seen their chlid grow, etc.

Good luck!
