Teacher Appreciation

Hi E., our class mom came up with some great ideas. I'm copying and pasting them, so hopefully it will come out okay.

1) Monday
a. Volunteer to take simple breakfast to her
b. Volunteer to take favorite lunch to her
c. Kids to write a poem about her

2) Tuesday
a. Volunteer to take simple breakfast to her
b. Volunteer to take favorite lunch to her
c. Kids to draw a picture resembling her

3) Wednesday
a. Volunteer to take simple breakfast to her
b. Volunteer to take favorite lunch to her
c. Kids to bring THEIR favorite chocolate item for her

4) Thursday
a. Volunteer to take simple breakfast to her
b. Volunteer to take favorite lunch to her
c. Kids to bring an Apple – with a note from each of them that says you are the apple of my eye

5) Friday
a. Volunteer to take simple breakfast to her
b. Volunteer to take favorite lunch to her
c. Kids bring in a picture of themselves and a special note that tells her how much they appreciate this year and what they learned and what ever else they want to say!

She also mentioned making a scrapbook of the 2006/2007 year for her to keep.

Bring her lunch one day! I always love when we were given a great lunch by the parent-teacher organization. :)

Someone gave me a cute idea:

Decorate a flower pot, put a packet of flower seeds, and a few other gardening tools to plant the flowers and a little note that says, "Thanks for helping me grow!"

Even if she doesn't garden much, it won't be too hard to plant the seeds and enjoy the flowers.

If you and enough other moms could go to the school during the lunch/recess hour and cover for the teachers, that would allow the kindergarten team a chance to all together have a duty free lunch hour. They would love and appreciate that!

You could put together a movie night basket. I've used sand castle buckets before for fun. Put a few sodas, some microwave popcorn, a big box or two of movie theater type candy, and a gift card to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video.

I am a former high school and elementary school teacher. Two gifts I really appreciated were a Pampered Chef gift basket (you could do the basket thing with anything, really...bath stuff, cooking things, gourmet foods, books, etc) and a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure at a nice spa.
