Tatoo Fever

It's been over 10 years since my first tatoo, and I would like to get 2 more. One of them, my husband needs to finish designing and I can only get it when I don't have to go to work everyday. (it will be on my lower back) But the simple one I would like to do soon--I would like to get a pink ribbon on the back of my neck. I have been involved in the Breast Cancer 3-day (this will be year 4) and my aunt just passed away this past fall after being diagnosed 3 years ago.

Does anyone know of any good places/people for tatoos? I live in the Northwest suburbs.

What can I do next?

I got my tatoo! I went to Cerny at Steady Ink because his artwork has more of the feel that I am looking for. I love it. It's a pink camo ribbon on the back of my neck. It's painful right now, but it's worth it.
It's funny. It's not getting a haircut. Besides the pain of being repeatedly poked by a needle, it is noisy so you don't really get to talk. It's just the buzzing sound of the tatoo needle and every once in awhile, "How are you doing?" I'm a talker, but I had to be quiet in order to stay relaxed.

I also am researching my third tatoo at a place in WI about 1hr 20min from my house, on recommendation of my friend (aka first tatoo artist) thanks to everyone for all the options!

I got mine at the Ink Lab in Uptown about 7 years ago. They were very professional and I was very happy with the work. Also, City Pages does tattoo parlors in their Best of the Twin Cities yearly issue. Here's the link to this year, but you can also search past years online:

I have a friend that does tatoos at serious ink. It is right off of east river road in Fridley. His name is Danny. He has won first place in competitions.

That's hilarious A.. I got a tatoo about 20 yrs ago and when I was paying for it the lady told me "watch out they're addicting". I didn't believe her, but a month later I wanted another one. I haven't but often think of other tatoos that I want.

I got mine in St. Cloud so I can't be of much help. But I know exactly what you mean when you say tatoo fever.

Hi A.,

I don't know any tattoo places in the NW metro, but I highly recommend Steady Tattoo in Minneapolis. They are connected to Axis Piercing, and I've had too many piercings and re-piercings there. I know someone who's had work done at Steady, but I myself haven't. They are very, very, clean and the work I've seen go on in there is phenomenal!

Here is their website for more info and directions: http://steadytattoo.com/home.html

Good luck!

I was very pleased with Tony (aka T-Bone) at Serious Ink in Fridley.

Hi there, A. ~

Sorry to hear about your aunt - what a cool way to honor her.

www.belovedstudios.com. It's in St. Paul off of Como and Snelling. Brandon Heffron is the owner and main artist, his wife Karis works there as a general manager ...and then some!! Sara is another artist there as well and they're all great folks - professional, very clean - a non-intimidating atmosphere. They just opened another shop in Little Canada - which says they're doing something right. Check out the web site. Please let them know S. sent you! Let me know if you had the opportunity to work with them.

Kind Regards,
S.

I know a great place in Mpls. It's called Saint Sabrina's. They have a website you can check out, I'm not sure what it is right now, but you could google it. I just got my first tattoo there in November and my sister has gotten 2 tattoo's from there. They're awesome there, I would go back there for sure!

Good luck!
