Anybody experince a "Tarsal Coalition" in their foot?? Ive had lots of foot pain after giving birth to my son, both feet hurt(Especially in the morning--they're literally stuck in place), muscle spasms in my legs & this weird "Snap" sound in my right heel.. sort of like stretching out a rubberband & letting go. I have no swelling, bruising, I can still walk ok--definitely Can NOT run.. Anyway-Dr did xrays & said it looks like i may have a Coalition in my right foot. they say to keep stretching & wear a brace at night & to give it another month.. im only 29yrs old so it worries me a little.

My sister was having a problem with her feet after her baby. She saw a chiropractor. He adjusted her feet and no more problems.

Have you had your hips looked at by a chiropractor or a Bowen therapist? If this started after the birth of your son, your pelvis may be out of alignment. I had a hip out of alignment for years, and I had a similar problem in my foot. It's worth having a look at at least. If you live close I can give you a free evaluation, and treatment. My office is in Watsonville. My number is ###-###-####. Also I recommend to my clients, take a yoga class. The stretching that they do is great exercise and really helps the muscles relax.Good luck :-)

Yes, I have it in my right foot. I had problems with pain for years and finally got diagnosed about 8 years ago. At the time I was kick boxing and running, I quit both which immediately helped. I have had two cortizone (sp?)shots which help and have learned what makes it flare and avoid certain activities. I no longer run. I do snowboard, but prop my foot up on the other one on the chairlift. For years I thought it odd that I had no pain while snowboarding, but lots on the lift. I also have a brace for when it gets really bad, but rarely use it (less than once a year) now that I know what makes it flare. Ask to see a podiatrist if you haven't already. T.

Well, sweetie, you should have asked the doctor what it is, and what to expect! Sometimes you have to be a little pushy to get the info you need. Call his office right now and ask until he explains it satisfactorily. That's his job!

did he give you a RX for PT? physical therapists should be called doctors! they are soooo knowledgeable & are so great about the recovery process & should be able to get you 'back on your feet'! i have experienced PT for 3 different reasons & each time it was the only i was able to recover! good luck & hope you'll be felling better soon!

A magnesium deficiency can cause muscle spasms. I would take some magnesium citrate or malate, and some vit b complex liquid along with seeing the doctor that the other mama recommended.

This condition is news to me but I have Plantar Fasciitis. It's like tendonitis on the bottom of your foot and it hurts in ways similar to your description. I injured myself in dance class and it's taken me a few years to start feeling better.

I'm sure you've heard stretching(esp 1st thing in the Morning - your muscles contract while you sleep), braces, therapy, orthotics, etc...
What really made a difference for me has been MBT shoes. They aren't cheap but they are high quality and gave me my mobility back. "negative heel" shoes are hot right now but the Sketcher "Shapeups" and Reebok "Easy Tone" don't have the same infrastructure.

My MIL started wearing MBT's exclusively and they have improved her back pain greatly. Anyway many of the high end shoe stores are now carrying MBT's and also Zappos.com has them.
I recently got a pair with Gortex and they are incredibly durable+easy to clean.

I hope you feel better soon!
