Tan Line Fiasco!

Hi moms, I know this is a silly topic - but I am in a pinch. I was out in the sun for a long time today without my usual foundation on that has SPF in it and now my face is badly burned. I could kick myself for forgetting to put it on. I was wearing sunglasses which at the time, I was happy about (for protecting the skin around my eyes. ) But now I have horrible "racoon eyes" - it's white all around my eyes and you can see the exact line where my sunglasses ended above my eyebrows! I usually wouldn't care so much, but I have to go with my husband to an important work event with him Tuesday. If any of you have been in this boat, I'd love any advice you might have. Are there any inexpensive items (like bronzers?) from Walgreens that would help? I have medium toned skinned. Thanks!

What can I do next?

That is hilarious (sorry! :), but prob will fade by Tues, at least enough to where all you'll need is a little foundation around the eyes w/ some bronzer or blusher that matches the faded burn. It reminds me of a story about my roommate from yrs ago, he had wiped something like 1000 SPF cursorily on his face and arms and around his belly, we were sitting on the roof w/ beers and listening to music w/ friends and getting some sun... well we forgot the time and when we went back to apartment, we noticed he had burned significantly across his exposed belly, arms, chest -- except there were white hand prints covering his boobs, where he had wiped the excess lotion. so funny, even he couldn't stop laughing... At least he had a shirt to cover up his little mistake... Good luck to you!!

Take some OTC pain relievers to take the burn down. Make sure you apply a lot of moisture to the burn otherwise you are going to peel, and that won't look good either. By Tuesday you should be fine. Whenever I get a sunburn they are usually gone within two days at the most, and I have pale skin.

It should fade by Tues, If not use a little foundation or a concealer (preferably one made for eyes) to get it to match. You may have to do some tests to see what looks best. I do believe it will fade by Tues so don't sweat it yet!!

Dermablend is a concealer that burn and scar victims use. I know Ulta used to carry it. It covers everything and isn't very heavy and matches a variety of skin tone.

I am extremely pale and never tan, but the Jergens self tanning lotion worked well for me. I am not sure how many days it takes to be effective though.

Worst case scenario, you could sunblock everywhere and go outside or to a tanning bed. Maybe it would even it out some even if it didn't totally catch up.

Or just explain to everyone what happened, it might make a good conversation starter:)

I wouldn't do anything yet as it could fade considerably by then. I'm sure it will look fine by then ;)
