I am in the middle of redoing my bathroom and need to remove my wallpaper border. I did not prep it prior to putting it up so i can only tear so much of it off. It's a disaster and need some help on ideas to take the rest of it off without ruining my walls. Help!

Downy liquid fabric softner and a sponge. We've taken wallpaper down in almost every room in our house and downy fabric softner works the best. You soak the sponge and rub it directly on the wallpaper and then use a paint scraper and it comes right off. I got tired of taking wallpaper off in our house, so our last project we did (basement) we actually painted right over the border and you can't even tell. I'm not sure how that would look if the entire wall was wallpaper, but I got the idea from some of the home shows on HGTV. They paint over wallpaper and borders a lot. But, since you already removing the wallpaper, I would definately try downey. Good Luck.

Without preping with walls before wallpapering you may not be able to get it down. We ended up painting over wall paper in one room because of that very problem. Try a solution of warm water and laundry detergent. Spray this on the walls and let it soak and then gently scrape with a razor. If you have drywall, make sure not soak the walls too much. Just enough to get the paper wet. Make sure to scrub the glue off the walls, patch any holes and use primer before painting. Good luck.

Dif, hot water, and a putty knife. Put it in a spray bottle and spray down the boarder. Let it sit for about 2 minutes and scrap away with a putty knife or wall paper remover knife. Do it in small sections, and the wall paper will come right off. Uggghhh, wallpaper and board removal...I have done this tons of times! But DIF is a miracle!

Score the wall lightly with a razor blade to open the paper up then spray the wall with warm water (or a special wallpaper removing solution) until the paper is damp, then it should peel off easily. It works best if you work section by section, and do the scoring in lines or a big asterik so that the paper peels off in this groups and not little pieces.

Hope this helps!
