I agree with Denise,

(TAFFY APPLE SALAD

1 tsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. (8 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained (save juice)
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. cider vinegar

Mix flour and sugar well in saucepan over low heat. Add egg and cider vinegar.

Cook juice from pineapple over low heat. Keep stirring until thick. Cool. Pour sauce over the following: 1/2 c. salted peanuts 1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped cream (Cool Whip)

Sprinkle salted peanuts on top and chill.) -

But don't use frozen cool whip - use unfrozen. Also, we mix the flour, sugar, egg, cider & juice together at once and then cook over low heat until thick - and when it cools you mix that with the cool whip, 1/2 c. salted nuts, apples, and crushed pineapple.

Also, DO use the peanuts!! I've tried it without (as my hubby doesn't like nuts) and it turned out runny (I think the salt in the nuts helps keep it bound together).

Also, the recipe I use calls for 4 cups of chopped apples - we use a combo of both red & green, but make sure to get very crisp apples, as the mushy ones won't taste good (we use more 3 red & 1 green apple - keeps it a little tangy).

It's a big crowd pleaser!

1 large tub Cool Whip
3 king size snicker bars
3 large granny smith apples.
chop up the bars and the apples, mix with cool whip. For an extra yumm, you could drizzle the top with carmel ice-cream topping.

A great recipe is go to Jewel and go to the Deli and buy it already made. Then go home and place it into a nice bowl. It may cost a little more but who cares !?!
