Swimming Pools
I am looking for a place that will have swimming pool open all year round at an affordable rate for my son to practice. I live in Lake in the Hills. The membership in the healthclubs with swimming pools is very high. Any suggestions?

We are members at Dundee township pools. Year round for residents for a family of 3 was only $164. They have 3 pools. The indoor one is open year round. The sleepy hollow one us great for swimming and playing for older children. The dolphin cove us great for little ones. It is at 25 and 68.

Dolphin Swim Club in Lake in the Hills is really nice for swim classes. I just recently started taking my two sons, ages 6 and 3, and they love it. The class sizes are very small...max. 4 kids. Plus, they have a playroom if they have lessons at different times.

What about a YMCA? I don't know all of the locations, but I do know that there is one in the Crystal Lake and Lake Zurich. Ys are non-profit so they are usually less expensive that other health clubs. I don't know what kind of practice you are looking for, but I know that they also offer swim team and lesson programs too.

Sometimes hotels will let you use there pool for a small fee. I know the Days Inn here in Woodstock will lets you. But I think it is like $5.00 each time. Check the hotels around where you live.
Also some health clubs let you pay per visit but it is usually $5 - $7 for a non-member visit.
Good Luck
