All Lifetime Fitness locations offer swimming lessons, even if you are not a member. We have not had the time for swim lessons (and my daughter is already 20 months old!), but I am a member and we have been impressed with all of the staff at Lifetime ____@____.com this helps!

We recently finished swim lessons at the YMCA. My little one is 13 mos & she LOVED it! They have a Mommy & me class that is wonderful. They offer it at all ages. The program gets them use to the water, having fun in it & begins to teach the basics, such as getting to the edge to hang on in case they fall in! It was really fun! Give it a try! =}

Not sure what part of town you are in but the City of Deer Park offers them as young as 6 months.

Sign up is May 24th.

Check out there website at: www.deerparktx.gov. On the home page to the far right there is a link to there Parks & Rec Summer Brochure.

My son will be taking them for the first time this summer. He's almost 3, I wish I would have started them when we was younger.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!

We did lessons at the YMCA when they were that young. The oldest one at 5 is currently on his first swim team and loving it!

B.,
I just started taking my 3 year old to Saints Street Swim on Saints St. off Westheimer. It was highly recommended to me and so far my son loves it. The class has only 3 boys in it so it's very hands on and personal. The instructors seem very nice and accomodating. We've been happy with it so far. The only drawback to this place is parking, but you work around it. I do believe they take all ages.

Check into your local YMCA. I think select locations have a mommy/baby swim class.

I gave lessons to my daughter at 9 mon,& she's now 14. We went to several schools. On the west side, Aquanauts on Wilcrest is good, but check to see if they're still there. I also have a 6 y.o. boy and we like Houston Swim Club off hwy. 59 and Gessner. I was told they were the best,but I didn't want to drive that far. I finally tried them, then went back to Saint Street. I didn't like it this time because my son had advanced at HSC, and Chad still put him back a class. We went back to HSC and he progressed at a much faster rate and really learned a lot.
