Can some one give a good recommendation for a swim school for my son. He's almost 4. I have been looking at Metroplex Gymnastics & swim school in Allen. Just wondering if anyone has any luck with them or any othere suggest other then Emler swim school.
My sons took lessons from the McKinney Parks and Recreation. The outdoor lessons are at the pool on MacDonald north of 380. The indoor ones are at the McKinney Senior Center pool on College, just north of Eldorado Parkway. You might also check with the natatorium in Allen.
ask around the neighborhood. when my kids were that age there were two different women that taught in their backyards. I stayed and watched.
Also, most rec centers and public pools offer swim classes. Check out your area rec centers.
Metroplex gyms pool is nasty, that facility is really dirty, I personally steer clear of that place. We take both of our kids to Emler in Frisco and both my kids have done really well there. I'd take them to Plano as it's a little closer to my house but the only reason I go out to the Frisco one is because they have two teachers who are trained specifically for special needs kids (my older boy is special needs). However, I've heard a lot of parents also taking their kids to the Allen Natatorium for swim lessons, I looked into it but decided on Emler as they don't allow more than 3 students per teacher in the group classes.
Emler schools are supposed to be good. I have a pool and did lesson with parks and rec, but also a lot at home. I can say I was always comfortable with the friends kids that came over that were taking lessons at Emlers. They seemed to have a good respect ofr the school and swam darn well.
