Swaps (Homemade Gifts) Ideas for My Six-year-old!

I saw these things at a craft show last week. They were bow holders. They used a round wooden circle bought at a craft store and painted a doll face on them. Then braided a 2 feet of yarn and glued to the head. Some had pretty ribbons and cloth material instead of yarn. The 2 ends hung down from the dollys head like her hair in braids. A ribbon tied to the bottom and a hook on the back. The girls hang them up and can clip thier hair bows to the braids to keep them in one place.

Can it be edible? How about making your own hot chocolate mix? You could put it in a jar or tin and make your own gift tag.

- pencil holders (decorate empty cans with paper collages or artwork and cover with clear contact paper)

- journals (decorate blank composition books with paper collages or artwork and cover with clear contact paper)

Buy 10 bulb ornaments and let her glitter-glue decorate them? Maybe with the girls' names?

Painting picture frames (Michaels carries a plain wood one for $1 each). Applesauce ornaments...easy and cheap to make and they smell good too! Homemade soaps? Candles are easy to make too. Rudolf treat pot (paint a terra cotta pot to look like Rudolf and then fill with candy). Bookmarks? Jewelry - beaded necklaces.
