Sunscreen Safety

I am looking for information about what the safest sunscreen products are, especially for my kids. In particular, I am concerned about the use of nanoparticles. I used to have a list which had the names of the ingredients to avoid and brands that are thought to be the safest.

I would love info from other Moms about what they know about safety and recommendations of good brands. I seem to remember Blue Lizard was a good one?? I really like the Neutragena spraty lotion, but I think it was recommended to stay away from sprays. Should I even worry about this stuff, does anyone know the science?

My kids and I wear sunscreen everyday in the summer, so I really can't afford to pay for pricey private labels, but I want to make a good choice too.

Thanks for your advice!!

We use Melaleuca's products; all manufactured with safety in mind; no known carcinogens. For more generic info, Google KidsSafeChemicals act - that may give you the ingredient list you are looking for.
