Hi everybody!
I am coaching soccer and so far this summer i have worn long warm up type pants to all of our practices. I have a brace on one leg and wear a compression sleeve under that. It is hanging around 105 heat index around here and we have a soccer tournament next weekend. I don't want to wear long pants to games in the middle of the day, but my legs are soooooo pale! I am fair skinned, so I don't tan anyway. I wear sunscreen or I fry. So, I am looking for suggestions for a good sunless tanner that I can use so I won't look like a ghost on the field. I don't want to smell yucky or turn orange, and I don't want something that is going to rub off on my brace after it's dry.
Anybody have ideas? Tanning beds aren't an option. I tried that once when I was younger and blistered within two minutes! I don't want skin cancer, so I am a sunscreen girl now.
Thanks for any adivce, :)

What can I do next?

I have one from Loreal that I really like and one from Mary K that I really like - neither one comes off on my clothes as long as I let it dry all the way before I put my clothes on~

I use the Jergens fast tanner (it says it jump starts your color in one day on the label). The trick is to apply it in circles vs. just straight up and down to avoid streaking. Also, rub and rub away so you don't get any funny darker patches and then use SPARINGLY on really boney areas such as your knees (and just below your knee on your shin bone), ankle bones and tops of feet where bones may be more pronounced.

I just discovered Jergens - they have a gradually tanner moisturizer that, when used daily, tans you in about 5 days. And, they have one that works in a day.

It smells good, moisturizes at the same time, and, so far, has not rubbed off on my clothing.

Just wait until it is completely dry before putting your brace on...if you can, wait a couple of hours after applying just to be safe. Or, apply the night before - works better for me as I am always rushed in the morning.

Jergens is great!! No smell at all. I used it on my stomach b/c I was already tan everywhere from running outside this spring. But then I wanted to put on a bikini once it got warm enough and my stomach looked white and gross. The Jergens tanning lotion really worked. It was gradual and looked totally natural. I got it at Walmart.

Hi! I haven't read the other responses so I apologize if this is a duplicate. I also can't tan in a booth or in the natural sun. I LOVE the sunless tanning products but have a problem with the orange-y look. I have found that if I use equal parts of the sunless tanning solution and lotion, it will give me a gradual not orange tan. I usually put it on after the shower after I have shaved. I usually do this every other night. You can still put sunscreen on as well.

I just started using Faux Tan by Bare Escentuals. It is a little more expensive than Jergens but I have not turned orange at all with it and I do with the Jergens. Also I find with the Jergens after about 3 or 4 days I start getting spots which I have not had at all with the Faux Tan.

I have very fair skin, too, and the best one for me is the Jergens Natural Glow. Stay away from anything fast-acting or bronzing because it will be too harsh on fair skin. You want the kind that gradually builds up a tan. The old Jergens used to smell but the one this year has a pleasant scent that's not overwhelming. Once it dries, no problems with it rubbing off.

I have used them all and St Tropez is the best ever! The color is completely natural. I use the mousse with the tint so you know where you put it. It dries within a minute and barely smellls. I have never streaked once with this. The downside is it is pricey, hard to find (Sephora is the only place in store-or you can get it online), and can really stain your hands. You have to coat your hands in moisturizer, apply and them rinse off right away.

Loreal Sublime. Has a bronzer that shows a tan immediately. Usually don't get any streaks. Have tried others like Neutrogena airbrush and not the same or as easy results. Only use on my legs as they rarely get time to tan and I am also a sunscreen girl. I love it!
