Not really about children but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on sunless tanning lotions or creams, sprays etc. that work well without turning me orange? Since I have moved to England my skin has gone quite pale and just a little glow would be nice even out the skin tone :) I have never used this kind of product before and don't really want to look orange so any sucessful products you have tried would be great thanks!!!

What can I do next?

Hi, I do not know anything about self tanning, but I am also here at Mildenhall. We live in Ely, I have a 10 yr old, but I do know plenty of gals with young children.

There is the lotion I like to use when I can find it...its Coppertone. I forget the name Coppertone puts on it, but I can tell you what the bottle looks like...It is blue and has a pump on top. Coppertone has several to choose from...but only the one in this bottle with the pump have I found to be successful. I have tried almost all of them (except the Arbonne that people speak of)...cheap to expensive over the years!

Hope this helps!
Patty

I have never used any tanning products, but you might not be able to use them while your pregnant. Make sure to read the label or ask your OB.
Good Luck!

Hi there! I am so glad you wrote about this because I, too, live in England at RAF Fairford and I am ghostly white. I highly recommend Arbonne sunless tanner (not only because I am a representative) because it has a nice glow to it without the awful smell. It comes in pump so you can spray all over. LOVE IT! If you would like to try it let me know. My website is www.betterthanever.myarbonne.com or you can email me. Do you like England? We have been here a year and I am finally feeling settled. We lived in Germany before so Europe isn't new but it is different here.

Arbonne International has a great sunless tanning lotion. They also back their products with a 45 day money back guarantee.

Made In The Shade, Self-Tanner, SPF 15

Step into the shade and develop a deep, dark tan without the damaging effects of the sun thanks to this SPF 15, botanically-based self-tanner. It's blended with avocado oil, arnica, chamomile, linden and rosemary extracts, works great for all skin types and provides natural-looking color that lasts for days.

Hello!
I use to use one that I really liked and got a lot of compliments on. I can't think of what brand it was right now but it was only about $6 a bottle. It is a lotion brand and it is a bronzer. It did not turn my skin orange but gave me a nice bronze and was affordable. Sorry I can't remember the kind right now. Look in the lotion section at the stor.

Hi J.-we're at lakenheath and I've had the same problem. I've been using Johnson's Holiday skin for a few years. You can get it at the BX-usualy!! If not there check out Tesco, Boots or Woolworths. There are several other body lotion type sunless tanners, I think they give the most natural looking tone. And we always need lotion anyway. Hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy your time here, I know we have. We're getting ready to PSC to Lajes Field in the Azores, in July

Hi J.,
I live in the UK and have become super pasty and white since arriving. I find the Body Shop does a decent cream that doesn't streak too much. You can also go to a salon and get the spray tans done. If you go into the city, head to Boots and they have a large section of sunless tanners. I also really like the Johnson & Johnson Holiday skin cream as it comes on gradually.

Good luck with the upcoming baby. Hope you are enjoying England and all the rain!

I use one from Arbonne International and it is awesome! I really like it. It is a botanically based self tanner that is wonderfully formulated. I happen to be a consultant so if you would like more information then I would be happy to get that to you and answer any questions you have.

Hi J.! I feel your pain! We are at Lakenheath. I have 2 suggestions for you. Both are what I use and I do not think that I have ever looked orange. The first is L'OREAL Sublime Bronze Airbrush Effect Self Tanning Mist. This is amazing. I bought it at Tescos. The second is to call a girl named Claire. She owns a company called Essentially You and will actually come to your house and do the spray tan. I have it done in my shower and it has not caused any damage to the shower walls. Her phone number is 07960543606. Let me know if I can help you with anything else or if you have any other questions.

Take Care
M. :)

Hello,
My name is I. Gutierrez, Im 22 years old and have a lil boy who is just turning 2,I live in RAF Lakenheath, my husband works in mildenhall as well, I know what you mean about the sunless tanners, I have tried only two, the spray does not work but the lotion works ok, I tried Loreal sublime bronze, medium deep. They sell it at the commissary, I would try it on one part of your body before you put it all over just in case you dont like it. Just dont put it on your feet.

A lot (like, every one I ever dared try) of the British ones turn you orange. I looked like a freakin' Umpa Lumpa some days.

You can try Coppertone's Self Tanner. You use a tiny bit, then slowly add a tiny bit more every few days until you get the color you want. It also helps prolong your actual tan.

Remember to go really easy on your knee areas, elbows, underarms, and other crease zones.
