Sunburn Relief Besides Aloe Vera
HELP Moms! I stayed down at the pool a little too long yesterday and am now in severe pain from sunburn.
My shoulders, forehead and back are very burned and I have 3 kids to take care of so I need quick relief. It doesn't seem like aloe vera is helping too much and it gets really sticky after applying and then my shirt has to peel off of it which makes it even more painful. UGGHHH!
Any suggestions you have, please send my way!
Thank You

I've been told over the counter products containing aloe have a very short life span. It sounds like these moms have some great products. Just fyi, a real aloe plant works wonders! Not just for sunburn.. any burn, cut, or scrape. Just cut some off, open it up and rub it on. Hope you're feeling better!

Start taking tylenol now, if you can take it. It takes a sunburn 24 hours to get as bad as it is going to get and the tylenol stops it and also helps with the pain.
Next.. pure aloe gel is great, or as close to pure as you can find. Put it in the refrigerator and apply it cold liberally and don't try to rub in. Yes, it is sticky until it dries, but, you will get great temporary relief, then apply it again when you need to. Wear your bathing suit top if you can and your shirt wont' stick to you, or let it dry then put on a loose one.
A soft cold shower will give you some relief as well and stop the heating too. Don't use any lotions to hold in the heat.
Another that I have never tried but makes sense is to soak a washcloth or such in milk and apply to skin.

If there are any blisters, not water blisters, call or get to your dr as soon as you can to be seen.
hope you get relief soon

Melaleuca After Sun works wonders!! It takes the sting out, the red away and in a day or two your back to normal!!! If you're close by, I have an extra one you can have to try.
Good luck!
