I would use some Noxzema(sp?). I am really fair and that is what my mom used to do as well. I have not had to do that with my lil ones but that is what I would use. You could try some tea tree oil as well. Hopefully they didn't blister!!!!!

Sunscreen, as a fair complected person I will burn just as easily in the shade, on a cloudy day, and through my clothes! Foille or Dermaplast or something may help him with some of the discomfort. Do not put cold rags or cold water or butter or whatever. Aloe Vera comes in bottles in some pharmacy's or health food stores. My personal remedy would be too painful for the baby but it works wonders right after a sunburn.....a hot shower. Yes! No matter how hot the water is - it is probably not as hot as the skin and will slowly pull out the burn, I also don't peel with this method....but it would be too much of a shock for the baby. I see where people are saying a cool bath....but that will blister. Be very careful and be sure to get him some pedialyte and banana's because he will dehydrate

Dear S.:
Spongue bath with baking soda was one remedy that I remember.
Also there is that green gel (Aloe Vera ) gel That takes out the redness and the sting of sunburn. There is also a n herb but i won"t use it on an infant. It not just shade it is also reflected sun off the water and sand. Hope this incident didn't spoil your fun in the sun.

Milk of Magnesia, applied topically.

I use Arbonne's rejuvenating cream it works great but takes a few days to get it. I heard a DR on Regis and Kelly say that you can take a cool bath with alkesaser (sp) tabets... let them disovle in your bath...
If you want the Rejuvenating Cream you can order it at www.betsygrant.myarbonne.com or call me for free shipping!! ###-###-####

If you have an aloe plant or know someone who does, snap off a piece and squeeze the juice onto his burn and rub in...its a bit slimy, but all natural so you don't have to worry about what you are putting on your baby. Also, keep him well hydrated because a bad sunburn can cause dehydration, and a bit of Motrin or Ibuprofen if there is any swelling. Good luck!!!

Lots of Aloe Vera, cool baths, lotion to try and prevent peeling. My mom is a nurse and suggested that I put Vinagar on her burn that stuff stinks but it takes the heat out. My 8 year old forgot to have the rec-n-roll staff re-apply and came home sunburnt (she hardly ever burns) and ended up having a few blisters and I took her to the dr. and the dr. said to keep doing what I was doing.

A&D ointment, the brown one is awesome. It does not smell the best, but almost instantly removes the burn. It also lasts a long time with relief and can be applied as often as you want. In my opinion, aloe vera and noxema only provide temporary relief and with vinegar why put up with the sting. Also, with a baby this young, if it is that bad, you may want to bring him to the dr just in case.
