One of the teachers at my kid's school got this great gift - it was a large bottle of hand santizer (the kind w/a pump on top). The original labels were peeled off and it was decorated w/vinyl circles of all size and colors (I think the color scheme was light blue, chocolate brown, bright pink and white).
I thought it was a very clever, useful and decorative gift for a teacher!

My husband and I are both teachers and teach in the summer as well. The best thing for us is a simple verbal thanks and hearing what we did to help your child. When we hear what works we continue to improve our teaching which is what we strive to do. Our satisfaction comes from seeing the kids learn. If you must do more, a thank you card is sufficient. IF you really want to give a gift, bookstore gift cards work well as we can purchase more books for the classroom. Hope this helps. Remember we are truly teachers to help kids - nothing more. It's just what we do.

I would add a praising letter to the principal copied to them if their work and efforts were successful and pleasant.
