What do the working mother's of wonderful 4yr olds do with their kids for the summer. I have researched everywhere and all I can frind are programs for 5 and up. If they are for 4 yr olds, then they are from 9-noon or 1-4...I have to work all not, not 4 hr increments. I have a sitter she could go to, she has been going there since she was 6 weeks old, however, she is starting to get bored, as there are no more kids left her age, all babies. She started pre-school this year 3 days a week and on the 2 days she goes to the sitter she begs me to go to school..She turns 4 in April and will be attending a 5 day preschool next year, but in the meantime I wanted something for the summer...PLEASE HELP! I have already looked at YMCA, City of Arlington, Boys and Girls Club, Camp Thurman...all of those are 5 and up for full day.

What can I do next?

I have a 6&9 that are attending their 2nd summer there. The staff is GREAT! it is located on a park with an indoor swimming pool...great for beating the heat. Ask to speak to the director maybe they can make an exception since she HAS BEEN ATENDING SCHOOL.
Give it a shot...good luck.

The Spanish Schoolhouse in north Arlington has a great summer program - or year-round for that matter. My daughter has been there for two years and loves it. And your daughter will learn some Spanish while she's having fun. Their number is ###-###-####, and their website is www.spanishschoolhouse.com

Call KidsPark in Arlington at the Highlands (http://www.kidspark.com/center/Arlington/welcome/) and ask them about their summer activities. I know they have them, but I don't see the info on their website yet... you can leave her their for as long as you need even if it's not for a formal camp. Last summer, I remember they had weekly and monthly rates posted so ask them about those. My 4-year old daughter goes there when we need childcare and she LOVES it. She never wants to leave when we pick her up. You can save on the registration fee too by "liking" them on Facebook-- every Wed they post a code for a discount for Wednesdays only. I've also seen coupons here and there.

ADDED LATER: There is a Mamapedia SweetDeal on right now for $50 worth of childcare at KidsPark for only $25 and free registration. GREAT deal. http://deals.mamapedia.com/deals/kids-park

Maybe try someone else to watch her. I am a stay at home mom and wouldn't mind watching another child over the Summer. Now my kids are 4,5 and 9 so I really would rather a child over a baby/toddler. I would want to be able to get out and play etc. I am in Mansfield but maybe we can work something out until she starts up school in the Fall. Message me if you are interested. ;)

My son goes to The Children's Courtyard on Pleasant Ridge. I believe they have summer-only programs available. The place is so much more than a daycare. You should look into it.
