Summer Drama and Musical Camps or Activities

Looking ahead for summer activities, I came across a camp for kids to work with professional actors learning about musical theater. Huge price tag. $450.00/week. Do you know of something a little less expensive close to Minneapolis (first tier suburbs)

What can I do next?

Chanhassen dinner theater has a great camp. You could call them or there on line. Also we have friend that have done the Hopkins children theaters and had a great experience.

My daughter participated two years ago in Stagecoach theater classes in St Louis Park. She really enjoyed it. I don't remember how much they were, but I am certain I did not pay anywhere near $450!

Stages Theatre company in Hopkins. We have been thinking of putting our 6 year old in one this summer. The prices are MUCH cheaper than 450 and it is a good way to get her exposed without the price tag and then having her not enjoy it. We have been to 2 of their productions and have really enjoyed the work that they do. Here is their website, http://www.stagestheatre.org/ good luck!

The Youth Performance Company puts on great camps...I went to the MN Parent Camp Fair at Como Zoo this past Saturday and spoke with them. They have many choices for different age groups. I had them do a residency with my kindergarten class and they were great. We saw their production of Babes in Toyland in December (all youth actors) and it was phenomenal. The camps all seemed very reasonable.
