I have a 5 year old girl that is getting ready for her summer, but the problem is what is she gonna do? I'm looking everywhere for a good but fun summer camp for her that is either a day camp, but preferably maybe a overnight camp. My questions are do anyone know of any camps (day/overnight) and is 5 a early age to send her to a overnight camp? Please help!! Summer is approaching!!!
I would like to say thank you to all the responses I have received! They have been a tremendous help. I am glad we have a site for mothers, cause everyone needs help once and a while! Glad to have people that I can ask! My decision for my daughter is to not put her in an overnight camp, but to let her attend a day camp. I am looking into a couple now, and I will keep everyone posted of the outcome.
If you pick up a copy of Atlanta Parent magazine -free -at most child-oriented places or your doctor's office, it lists tons of daycamps all over the Atlanta area. I think 5 may be a little young for sleep over camp. Depending on what you have near you, YMCA/YWCAs run summer day camps that I think last pretty much the whole summer.

I am new to the area (Fayetteville) so I don't know a lot of resources, but I wanted to give my input as to overnight camp. I do think that 5 is a bit too young in general. I don't know your daughter. She may be very advanced emotionally for her age & could handle that. But, I personally don't think kids should sleep over anywhere that isn't family or a very close friend until at least 10. I can't imagine how hard it is to be a single Mom! I am sure you want nothing but the best for her. I'll keep my ears open around town. My husband grew up here, so his Mom might know of something. She's pretty deep-rooted in the community. What is your daughter into? Are there any restrictions or requirements you have (such as: nowhere that has a pool or needs to be Bible-based...)? Good luck & I'll let you know if I hear of anything.

I live in College Park and my daughter will go to Virginia Gray Rec. Center on E.Fayetteville Rd. She went last summer and she loved it. They do two field trips a week, that does not include swimming and arts & crafts and it is only $50 a week for clayton residents. The only thing is you have to bring their lunch but some days they will eat out for a small price (like chick-fil-a), which packing her lunch is cool with me because that way I know she has the things that she likes to eat. Also field trips are a little extra depending on where they go (Fernbank) is like 10-15 dollars other trips like the movies may be a buck or two. Hope this helps. They also have information on other camps in the clayton area. Also I would never let my daughter spend the night over night anywhere unless its my grandmother or mother, you can't trust too many people with your children these days and this is just my opinion. I try to keep her with me at all times if possible and when she is away I pray that she will be protected.
