Summer Camp Referrals

I am looking for a summer camp for my 6-year old boy. I work full-time so I need a full-day program for at least 8 weeks of the summer. I live in Carrollwood. Any advice would be helpful.

check with your local YMCA. I know the one in my area has a fantastic facility for learning and growing kids. I also have friends who have worked there in the childrens area and I know they take the kids outside and give them fresh air and play games with them so the kids arent couped up all day in a facility. To my knowledge, the YMCA does do an all day daycare and after school programs too. I've never heard a complaint about them yet.

I'm looking too.
What I've found is most groups are getting their rates and information together for publishing in February. Planners like us just have to wait.
I've found good programs available at MOSI & Lowry Park Zoo but the price isn't online yet.
Check out your YMCA and any good local daycares. They may offer a summer program.
I'm in Temple Terrace and we don't have good local ones but I know Carrollwood has a bigger selection.
Also - go to Babies-R-Us and find their "FAMILY" magazine in a rack by the carts. They will have some suggestions as well.
Good luck.

My 11 year old daughter goes to Camp Frontier in Wimauma. They have a day camp, but she goes for two weeks in the summer to their overnight camp. She absolutely loves it, and the price is reasonable. The website is campfrontier.com if you'd like to check them out. Let me know if you'd like more information.

The long center on Belcher Road, www.longcenter.org has a summer camp that is affordable. Olympic size pool, large park, etc. I am signing up this year for my daughter. Also go to myclearwater.com and this hooks you up to all of the parks departments and which have various summer camps through the local recreation centers.

Good Luck
