Sugarlips Cakery

Hello Mamas,
I am wondering if any of you wonderful ladies has had any experience with Sugarlips Cakery good or bad? I am planning my dd's 1st Bday and Daddy wants it to be really special with a fabulous 3 dimensional cake. Please let me know if they are as yummy as they look. They seem reasonably priced as opposed to HoneyMoon Sweets who did our wedding cake which was delicious and beautiful, but expensive! Thanks momma's!

What can I do next?

I've heard really great things on several different websites - they come highly recommended and they have a great website too! My husband knows the owners and they are really nice too.

Yes, I have experience with SugarLips. I know the owner. My sister got a cake there for my niece's birthday last year and it was very cute and very good. My friend also got a wedding cake there for her mother in law's wedding and said she was very happy with it. I have gone in and had cookies also and cupcakes. Very good. The owner Melodie is great to work with and everything was done when she said it would be. Good luck!

We got a carrot cake from there for Eeaster last year I think it was like 8 inches not very big anyway my husband says it was one of the best carrot cakes he ever had. I personally thought it was expensive after all it was just a carrot cake and a small one but it was 30.00 I think. My husbands company also got cupcakes there 24 for 51.00 also taste good. My personal like for b-D. cakes are Costco or Safeway they design really nice. But I think they taste the best. Safeway for sure does "cupcake" cakes where they put all the cupcakes together and then frost all of them as one design it's really cool and yummy. And then you just hand out the cupcakes instead of cutting a cake. That in my opinion is one of the best ideas for kids birthday's ever. All in all Sugar Lips does taste good and no bad experience, but have only been there a couple of times. As long as this is the place on Guadalupe between Price and I think Alma School in Mesa.

LOVE THEM, LOVE THEM, LOVE THEM. They did my daugher's 4th bday cake, and it was amazing. We were having a birthday carnival, and sort of wanted a cake to fit the theme. The owner was able to just sketch out a scene with the bounce house, etc. on paper while we talked, then transformed it into the most beautiful cake you've ever seen. Delicious, too! My husband just purchased my last birthday cake from them - a pink champagne cake with fresh flowers on top. Gorgeous and delicious. I have photographs of both if you'd like to see them. Send me your e-mail address and I'll forward them. I would recommend them highly. You won't be disappointed.

We had a Sugarlips cake for a bridal shower at our church last spring, and it was fabulous. The decoration was exquisite and the taste was out of this world!! The staff is also super-nice. I wrote them to ask their advice on a cake I was making, and they very sweetly answered me and gave the advice I needed. We'll be using them for any and all cakes we need in the future!
