Not sure if you have the following places in your area, but for both of my pregnancies I shopped at the following:
Target-can find good, relatively cheap cute clothes most of the time
Motherhood-they can be a little more expensive, but I had to have work clothes which I got a lot from here, and I got my maternity bathing suit here as well. They also have a good selection of a little more dressy stuff for like weddings, etc.
JCPenney-relatively small selection, but did have some cute stuff
Kohls-again small selection, may vary by area, but can be a little pricey

My favorite was Gap maternity. The clothes were good quality & fit really well. I shopped the clearance rack and got a lot for not much money. They are pretty true to non maternty size if you need to buy online. I wore a 6 pre prego & needed a 6 for maternity. I did need to go up a size on all denim though. The best part is a lot of their stuff doesn't look like maternity. I'm not back to my original size yet & I have several pairs of gap pants I'm still wearing. No one can tell It is really maternity & I have asked.

I bought a maternity suit with my first pregnancy. It was a tent, and I have never warn it. I instead went to Costco and for $22, got a tankini. I went up a few sizes and at the end (I am now 34 weeks, and wore it until last week for my son's 12 weeks of swim lessons) some of my belly hung out. But I think it was worth it, and I think I will be able to wear it after the baby while I lose weight, or maybe even longer than that. It seemed to grow with me well, as opposed to the maternity type that start out big.

I really liked Old Navy's maternity clothes. I bought pants and shorts and cute shirts there.
