My daughter get a stuffy nose from time to time and hates the nose drops so I use a Sudacare plug-in for children. It works great and she is able to breath much better.

The nose drops and suction along with the vaporizor are about your best bets. Colds last more like 10 days - 2 weeks so a week isn't really that long - even though it feels like it. If she's having trouble sleeping because of difficulty breathing, try either putting a pillow under the mattress in her crib to prop up the one side of the bed or letting her sleep in the infant carrier loosely strapped in for safety and comfort. Mine always slid down the raised mattress, but the carseat was a good solution for us...actually we still use it with a convertible carseat now with our 2 year old.

I have a 9 month old daughter as well, and when we she 6 1/2 mnths old she got a cold, stuffy nose and a cough. I took her in to the dr after she had had it for a week, after calling and them telling me to use the cool mist humidifer and little noses, saline drops in her nose. Her cold still was there so we took her in and it did just turn out to be a cold and there wasnt anything they could do. The dr said especially in the winter that colds, stuffy noses/cough can last a long time.
Have you tried the saline drops? You can put just like 2-3 drops in each nostril as often as you want, they help break up the mucas in her nose. Can she breathe ok? Is her mucas green or yellow? If it is, take her in, if not then you just have to let it run its course. Keep using the cool mist humidifier. Hope that helped!

Pedi Care stuffy nose. Ask your pharmacist for the correct dose. Just make sure you get the infant's version. It's wonderful stuff, I also use Baby Rub, made by Vic's. It's for children 3 mos and older. Good luck!

Try saline nose drops. That's what I do for my daughter. It makes her nose run like crazy. Get the tissues ready.

My daughter's name is Arianna also. She is 11 months old.

My first thought is teething. My 11 month old gets regular cold syptoms for a week to 10 days before a tooth pops through. Every thing clears up on its own within a day of the tooth coming in. Just a thought.

T.,
My 13 month old daughter has had those symptoms since October. Her ped told me that unfortunately this is going to last the entire winter. My daughter goes through phases. One week she'll be terribly congested and the next you can hardly tell. I put saline drops in her nose and I run a humidifier with eucalyptus and peppermint oil in it to help her at night. Before I started doing this she would get up through the night. Now she stays commfy and sleeps all night. Hope this helps.

My ped. suggested that using childrens Benadryl for stuffy nose and watery eyes is okay to do, but only at bedtime b/c of the drowsiness it causes. However, the Benadryl will need titrated to the dose for a 9 month old. the dose for that age is 1/4tsp. I used this method for my sick infant each time she got a cold.

Well my 2 year old has had a runny nose on and off her whole life. This time of year is the worst for her. We believe it is a seasonal allergy. Just keep track of it to see if certain times of the year bother her more. We do a saline spray morning and night. Try to watch for any other signs like coughing. That is when I would try a medicine or a call to the doctor. My Haley is on childrens Claritan when the nose starts to run. Her eyes get very watery too. I hope this helps you unfortunately there is not a whole to do but use the lotion tissues. Stuffy girls!!

if your daughter has allergies, the humidifier could be making things worse. my pediatrician also told me to use the humidifier for my littel boy but when i finally made an appointment with the allergist he said he tells all of his patients to get rid of it. he stated that it actually makes the air worse for someone with allergies because dust mites and mildew breed in the damp environment. i treat his symptoms at night with benadryl - just be sure to check with your doctor for the proper dosage.

Youre probably most likley dealing with Allergies, could be anything Hay fever, grass, ragweed, trees, or even something in the air in your house. Try getting one of them Ionic Breeze contraptions they work. But to keep your child comfortable, All you can do is give pedia care at the recomended dosage, and hope it clears up. My 8 year old at the time had the same problems and ended up on Claritan D everysummer, but finally grew out of it. Shes 13 now and usually only gets her stuff nose and watery eyes when she has a cold.
Good luck
